That poor American woman. She's trying so hard. Also, I feel you do the Aussies a disservice. They own the C word. It's, like, their copyright. It's - quite genuinely - used as a term of endearment in Oz. I'm not shitting you there. It really is how good mates greet one another down under. Like, we Brits do use that word. But we do still have a sense of reservation about it. It is more powerful than the F word, and so you only deploy it when it's truly merited. Even if we address a good friend with that word, they have done something - pranked you or mocked you or stood you up or something - to warrant its use. But the Aussies just give no shits. Everyone's happily a "see you next Tuesday" in all directions down under. (By the way, I'm only not deploying the C and F words here, because KZbin's AI can read. I know it doesn't mind "shit" so much. Well, American company - the AI is programmed with American linguistic sensibilities. But at least Google's AI is a bit smarter than most automated moderators. It doesn't suffer from the so-called "Scunthorpe problem". Yes, there's a town in England called "Scunthorpe" and the good people of this town keep getting blocked and censored online, for mentioning where they live. If you look closely at the town's name, then you'll spot the reason why.)

He is such a wonderful person. I had the honor of being his security at the Montreal ComicCon last year. During a lull in the autograph signing I had a great conversation with him telling me about some of the amazing interactions he had with the fans. I confessed that I was experiencing a state of euphoria, energized by the positive energy coming from him which spilled over to his fans the entire weekend. I then offered him a Kit Kat chocolate bar I had saved in case we needed a quick sugar rush. I loved the way he just said "Yes!" unwrapped the chocolate gave me a piece, gave a piece to his assistant and the three of us just enjoyed a quiet moment eating chocolate. At the end of the day we took some photos, and he gave me a signed photo (Riker form Lower Decks) which I framed and have in my office. :) The whole experience still gives me a rush. Truly a heart-warming, class act.

During the 1st STtng convention in Manhattan, at the Statler Hilton Hotel, my friend and I decided to take a break and go to the bar there. Sitting across the bar, to our surprise, was Jonathan Frakes. So, I bought him a drink, He looked over, and I said, "We're just fans!" He smiled, and we did a toast together. (I left him alone, but my friend had to get in his face!) Then we left and went back to the convention. Later on Jonathan saw us in the crowd and walked over to us, just to shake our hands. It was awesome! What a nice guy, right from the get-go. (I doubt he'll remember it, but I'll never forget! )

While he was doing his panel, my friend asked him about if he got to choose the episodes he directed or if it was just random (he addresses the answer to this question at 42min in), because his episodes were always so _dark_. Great interview, and you 100% need to do something in Star Trek! You were the perfect choice for Starbuck! What I imagine the producers didn't understand (always a group of people behind the curve of change) is what Battlestar did so well that was groundbreaking at the time is writing female characters there were allowed to be both hard/tough/kickass and also 'feminine' rather than putting the character (unrealistically) in on box or the other.
