Samantha Bush went from 40th place at 5K to 15th at the finish. (A 25 point pickup and State wins 114-140 which is 26 points) What a last kilometer she had. Chmiel took 3rd and we all know what Tuohy did.... Great job Ladies!!! National Champs!!!!!!

NYS cross country runners shine, Katelyn, Kelsey, and Brooke something that does not happen often at the college level. NYS high school girls teams have won all but one Nike cross country title and yet they have not fared as well in college. Nice to see them doing well.

I ran XC for Foothill college and our coach was Vern Wolfe who ended up being the head track coach at USC, we trained at Stanford Golf course and it had a murderous hill, coach demanded we sprint for 200 yards after cresting the hill, usually that won the race for us

I've never seen a course like this. This is the Los Angeles Freeway of Cross-Country courses! Back To Kate. I liken her physical conditioning to Ellie Purrier-St Pierre. Getting up at 4:30 AM and milking the cows, feeding the hogs, shower, go to school, then after school practice. Elle simply overpowers you on the track. I don't know what Kate does, but she has all the brute strength she needs.
