I wonder how Lucas feels. He trusted her, and even wanted her to be the next head of Lucasfilm. And here we are. I can't imagine the betrayal he must have felt as classic cultural characters were defiled by the Disney trilogy. Personally, I think she should have been reigned in when she came out with the "force is Female" mindset. I can remember that picture, and at the time, thought it was a little cringe but otherwise harmless. In hindsight, that was a major red flag. I have nothing against great female characters. I thought Leia was a total badass of brains, brawn when she had to, and still unmistakably feminine. I had no trouble loving and relating to her ever since first seeing RotJ when I was a kindergartner (the first Star Wars movie I ever saw). But the bottom line is that the majority of the fanbase that have made this an enduring component of western cinema and culture is male. There is NOTHING wrong with that either. There have ALWAYS been plenty of women who love Star Wars too! But to come right out, and claim "the force is female," then hire a bunch of writers who weren't fans of Star Wars, had little if any knowledge of the expanded universe, and most unforgivable, didn't have any respect for the canon and had even less respect for the majority of the fans. Instead of faithfully continuing the LucasFilm IPs as they were, Kennedy decided it was far more important that she had control of "a platform" not a beloved piece of western culture. She deprioritized storytelling, canon, and actively worked to expel the legions of fans who were at first, like me, foolish enough to think the Disney buyout was great because we were going to get more Star Wars content by someone who had been there since the beginning. But instead, we were told that we weren't important. That the force was female and thus, much of the new content "wasn't for us," the fans who have been here forever. The majority of the fanbase... As the years have passed, Kennedy and the activists she has hired, have moved from antagonism to outright attacking the majority of the fanbase. She truly thought she was going to bring in a newer "better" fanbase, instead of the one that actually existed. Now, we get self-inserts, are told that "it's high time a WOMAN directs a galaxy far far away," get tone deaf rage-twerked at as we are accused of being bigots and racists, with each new release being marketed virtually entirely on how many minority checkboxes their show has, as an unsubtle pistol to our temples, warning us that any criticism will result in us being branded as hateful racist bigots... But I'm a brown ass latino man myself. And because I'm an actual complete person, and not just a skin tone and an ancestry, I can emphatically say that I don't need their characters to look like me in order to relate to them. I'm nowhere near that fucking shallow, and I'm offended at the implication that I need to clap like a lobotomized seal because they're cramming "diversity" that's about an inch deep in my face, and telling me that the story isn't important, their inclusivity is. And I better get on board, "or else." But I have identified with Han, Luke, hell, as a six year old I had zero trouble with identifying with and loving a woman as badass as Leia! Skin tone isn't important. No matter what people like Kennedy, Hedland, and Amandla try to tell us. A person's strengths, weaknesses, and motivations are. Diversity is a way to make your stories richer and more meaningful. But it is never the main selling point. Good diversity doesn't need a spotlight shone upon it, and highlighted as the most important element of your show. Any show that does that a la the Rings of Power and the Acolyte, is going to be a weak offering guaranteed. Especially when it's done lazily with no real rhyme or reason and without any explanation. That's just bad world building. And assuming that I need to be okay with their sloppiness as a brown guy is insulting. After the last decade, I'm truly saddened what she has done to my beloved childhood IPs. And if I had money invested in Disney these days, I would want to know why she has been allowed to tank a multibillion dollar brand, and stand proudly as one of the preeminent cultural vandals of the 21st century.

I could turn Star Wars around immediately…Starting with first firing the Story group, bring back the old EU, decanonize the “Sequel Trilogy” rework Star Wars Resistance to fit nicely within the brought back EU, bring back LucasArts, green lit movies and shows based on the EU etc…

I think i heard that the writer for the Rey movie filed 4 different drafts of a script. And KK sent each back with personal notes on the story. Right there is the core problem, because the woman is obviously not creative, but forces her terrible ideas into everything.

Look, the last two movies of the last trilogy were garbage, and I think we can all agree on that, but not everything is going to be great. I thought that Obi-Wan was good. I thought Asoka was good, I thought that the Mandalorian was good, I was surprised by the Boba Fett thing. I think that a lot of the cartoons are worth watching although I hate cartoons so I only have a peripheral appreciation for them. I didn’t watch the last show because of all the bad press, but to be honest with you, the clips seem to be a bit heavy-handed, and the interviews that I saw really offended me. All in all not everything is bad. That being said, she still has to go. Jedis are monks, they’re not lesbians.

He directed all the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. And he really put his thing down with "Cop Car" and "Clown." So we have every reason to expect great things from Skeleton Crew. I don't have to lie about Jon Watts; his work says it all for him.
