Did the fear of looking older hold you back from going gray? Let me know!

Katie, you do great in live videos. You come off as relaxed, confidant, and supportive. I've turned to your videos time and time again for support and encouragement while growing out my silver hair. I'm now fully natural after 2 years of growing out my gray cold-turkey. You have been a blessing. 🥰

Thank you, that is so nice to hear! I get so nervous doing these but they are actually fun at the same time. I’m going to still keep doing them and hopefully I’ll stop getting nervous. So glad you like them. Congratulations on being fully silver!

I try to combat looking older by spending the hair dye money on good skin care ..seems to help😊

Yes, me too! I quit 2 an a hal months ago no more hair dye. I am focused on eating healthier and routine overall skin care. I am excited with my journey although I know I have a bit ways to go😊 my biggest supporter is my husband who has been telling me that, I should go grey for years now. I am 59 years old and watched these videos and got inspired thank you so much Katie! Your hair is absolutely gorgeous and looks good on you. Many blessings 🙏 to you❤

I am one year three months into my transition from dyed blond/brown hair to grey. It’s been a good thing and people seem to like my look. I even had a young lady at Sephora tell me how much she liked my hair. Which now looks ombré, long and curly, and the grey mixes well with my blonde curls. I find watching your shows to help me a lot! I am also Irish, 56 , with green and gold ring eyes! You look great and beautiful by the way! Thank you for your inspiration and your support for all of us! 🍀🙏😀

Hi, Claudia! I'm so glad that you enjoy the videos and that you get positive reactions to your ombre hair - I love it! Thanks for the kind words - glad you are here with me!

Thanks for that... I'm also dyed blonde/dark brown hair to grey . I'm going through a difficult stage, month 11. I've had two hair cuts this last 6 months. I'm told it'll be 2 and a half years before I'm rid of all dye. I'm exited and looking forward to first milestone of one year next month. Feels like a sister hood and grateful ❤️

I'm just starting to transition to my natural salt and pepper. I'm 55 and truly don't care about people thinking I look old as I'm not trying to find a mate and refuse to do botox or any cosmetic procedures as my mother spends a fortune trying to look younger but to me, women who go to those extremes just end up looking like older women who are trying to look younger! I've earned my wrinkles and grey hair so will wear them with pride. PS: Has anyone ever told you that you look a lot like one of my favourite saxophone players Candy Dulfer? Even your voice sounds like her (minus the Dutch accent)

Hi, Lisa! I like what you said about wearing your wrinkles and gray hair with pride. I (obviously, lol) wear my gray hair with pride but I still struggle with the wrinkles. I hadn't heard of Candy Dulfer, but thank you - what a pretty lady!

I had been doing a brown color that had some copper in it for about 5 years and I was kind of feeling that it wasn't quite right with my skin tone already. As I thought of going gray I decided I had to get as close as I could to what my natural brown was and went with a more ashy brown at the same level. I loved it so much I kept it up for another 8 months. I think getting away from a warm tone is a baby step before going gray because at least you have a cool tone with less brassy potential that won't have as much tonal contrast to your natural color assuming you have any left.

That part! Dating is weird with growing out my grey. When your married, it's no biggie. ❤

Thank you for this video! Your channel has been helping me. I started growing out my grey in October 2023. I’m excited to see how it will look when it’s all grown out but I don’t really feel like myself with it yet. It’s very white around my face but still mostly dark on the rest of my head. But I don’t want to use dye anymore so that motivates me to hang in there.

I'm so glad you liked it and that the channel helps you! Thanks for letting me know. If you can’t make it to the end goal (being fully gray), I bet you’ll be happy! It’s SO nice not to dye anymore. It feels great!

@@KatieGoesPlatinum Thanks so much for your reply and the encouragement! I agree! It is so freeing not to dye anymore! I always worried what the ingredients were doing to my body and the build up of toxins. Thank you for the inspiration--your hair is beautiful!

It's mos def a process. Probably the biggest thing for me that kept me going was being really curious what I REALLY had going on under the dye. I also focused on getting my hair as healthy as possible (using Olaplex No. 3, not shampooing daily like I used to, microfiber hair towels and sleeping on a satin pillowcase to prevent breakage, using leave-in conditioner and hair oil, heat protectant when I blow dry without fail) because I also wanted to increase the length.

@Madmarsha Thank you for your comment! Good to know. Exactly, it is motivating to see what’s been under the dye!

I went to my son's wedding and let my grey hair be... felt confident and pretty until I got the pictures from the wedding. I am calico at this time. Oh well, not going back to dying... I am 60 not 30 and that is that. I have a great personality and I am of Irish descent! started getting grey hair at 19 years old... Thank you Katie, I appreciate your videos.

Oh my gosh, I was out for a morning walk in the apple orchards behind our house listening to this, and when you said "maybe I should put some gin and tonic in here.. but it's only 930" I let out the loudest gafaw! Just thankful no one but the apples heard me😂

I’m Irish American but I and both my parents went gray late. We have a lot of red, my father was full on redhead and still had a reddish brown color mixed with gray in his 70s. I’m 61 and my reddish brown hair has faded into ash brown. It’s dyed now as of 2 weeks ago but I think I made a mistake. I regretted it before I had even washed it out!

Thanks for this video. I’m sorry that you find it so stressful to do them. But if a stranger’s opinion matters at all, you come across as being comfortable on camera and as a reassuring presence…even when you mention your anxiety you still seem fine. As a fellow fast talker, fast-talking doesn’t necessarily mean ‘nervous’ in my world, so that wouldn’t have clued me in to your ordeal either. 😂

Does your hair come out even when your grey?
@KatieGoesPlatinum10 ай бұрын
Everyone’s different. Try looking at your relatives who are gray to get an idea of how your gray will probably grow in. Although it’s also kind of a crapshoot - my gray hair grew in almost completely on the top layer, and my dark natural hair color is underneath. Other people end up with gray hair only on the sides of their face - and some people end up with more gray in the back than the front or vice versa..

Who cares? It doesnt matter others opinions. Silver hair makes people look very good anyway
