I'm very picky giving out 5 stars. The book has to be amazing and a new favorite to get 5 stars. I normally give out 3 stars because I enjoy almost everything I read, but loving or hating a book takes a lot lol.

Honestly, I too give out five stars like candys. If a book made me cry, then it's a five-star read for me. Also, you not remembering The invisible life of Adie is breaking my heart, it's my favorite book. 🥺

I feel like if I even enjoy any part of a book I give it 5 stars. I really need to reevaluate my standards😂 I just get caught up in the emotions of the book and rate it like 5 seconds after I finish it without thinking🙃

You can very much read classics like you'd read anything else, although they get better if you do your homework and try to figure out the historical context and references.

This is such a cool video idea! There are definitely a lot of books that I’d need to reread to see if they really deserved the rating I gave them, especially a few years ago because I was less strict with my ratings. Love this video as always 💙✨

thank you! and i can quickly tell you now, basically i look on a site like book depository for the books i’m looking for and grab the isbn from the book description there, and then i use an isbn search website which usually has links to where those used books are being sold (so it will pop up places like thrift books or abe books) but i just look at the links to amazon marketplace!

Not me learning that the Graveyard book is a retelling of the Jungle book when you mentioned it 😅😅 I think there's no need to be selective if your system works well for you! I have plenty of books that I give 5 stars that I just like a lot, and other books that are "technically" better that I only give a 4/4.5 to

i didn’t realized the graveyard book was a retelling until like the very last page😭 and i definitely don’t plan an readjusting my system because it has worked well for me so far! in the end the rating i give a book doesn’t really matter so the five stars will continue haha

Im also not very picky either, if i had a really great time and enjoyed the characters, i will give it 5 stars, i just love books that have an emotional impact on me, whether happy or sad Also taste changes at different times of your life, so what could've been a 5 stars 3 years ago might not be 5 stars now and thats okay, cause at the time i felt it was 5 stars

I feel like I don't give out a lot of 5 star rating and I'm not sure if that says more about how I rate or the books I end up reading. I also rarely change ratings, I did recently from a 4 to a 5 because for the next week I couldn't stop thinking about the book and that felt like it wanted the upgrade.
