Absolutely lovely Katie! Really love your process. I’m so uptight and nervous about being out and about and having people ‘see’ what I’m doing. This video is very inspiring and it may just make me head out this weekend! Thank you 💕

Oh thank you so much!! So happy to hear this has inspired you! I found it easier when I first started drawing outside to find a quiet spot - usually with a wall/hedge/building behind me so that people couldn't come up behind and surprise me! If you wear headphones too, most people will see that you want to be left alone as well. I wish you all the best if you do head out this weekend - let me know if you do and how it goes! 😊💛

Love that you are using watercolor. It's the medium of choice for me. Thanks for the tip of limiting supplies when traveling it will come on handy. My favorite is the Cafe. Everyday things are all good to sketch. Blessings

What a lovely and inspirational video 😄💖 Really fun seeing what creating can look like for you on different days. I really love your mix of journaling and paintings, it looks so good and I definitely want to try that in my sketchbook 😊 So smart that you drew that sketch in the cafe and then finished the rest later, have never thought about that. I’ve always wanted to draw at a cafe, but like you never done it. But just doing a sketch for my first time seems way less intimidating!

Aw thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it 🥹 It's so fun combining the journaling with art, it feels very natural to me so I've been doing it more and more this year! 😄 Oooh I definitely recommend just doing the sketch first if you want to give it a go! It feels much easier to just get a pencil out to draw rather than paints, but hoping I'll build up to that 😊💛

Yeah! I enjoyed this video Katie! It was great to see a bit of your beautiful country and go on holiday with you 🥰. I loved everything about this video, watching you pack up your supplies and watching you paint. I don’t even have a favorite, I couldn’t choose if my life depended on it!! I understand about you being a little nervous sketching in the cafe never mind if you tried to paint there too. 😮. I am way to shy myself to even consider pulling out a ✏️. Very brave of you, you are young enough though and I know you will become more comfortable in the future with at least sketching in a cafe or such. Sitting on a bench in a public garden with Mitch is a heck of a lot easier, as you said. I know you can’t often make videos like this one but take us along whenever you can!!❤
@KatieMoody5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much Kathy 🥰 I'm glad I could take you along with me and show you a little part of my world! It felt good to conquer my little fear of drawing in the cafe, and maybe one day I'll be brave enough to paint there! Yes, as you say I think it'll get easier! I used to be too shy to paint in public gardens too and now I don't think anything of it! 😊 Thank you so much for your lovely comment and for watching! 💕
@KathleenMcKinstry5 ай бұрын
That is progress Katie, being comfortable painting out in a public garden and not giving it a thought! For someone like me, that can be shy myself at times, it would be impossible to do. But there’s nothing wrong with it, and I would think you get more pleasure and joy by painting or sketching in a beautiful garden, than not. Especially having your husband by your side. ❤

Thank you so much! Hahaha, luckily never!! I've dipped my brush into an empty teacup before but never with tea in it... hopefully I've not jinxed myself now 🤣 Plus the biscuits never last long enough to worry, they get eaten immediately 😆

Beautiful threads, Katie! It is a joy to see you create! What brand of watercolour pencil was the yellow and the blue in your cafe page?
@KatieMoody5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much 🧡 The blue is the Dark Indigo 639 and I also used the Raw Sienna 036 shade for the sketch, both are Caran D'Ache Luminance. The yellow I used for some of the shading is just a cheap no-brand yellow pencil! Neither are water soluble but layer great on top of the watercolour 😊
