Katie, this was fantastic! Please do more video tours like this where you are eating and drinking your way around Rome neighborhoods 🎉

How did I not know you had your own channel? After having read your cookbooks and newspaper articles, and listening to the Gola Podcast, I was surprised to find you here! Ben fatto, non vedo l'ora di guardare più!

I'll be staying in Trastevere so the restaurant pick was my #1 question for day 1. Thanks as always for this invaluable insight!

Great as always, Katie! Loving the art/architecture info (along with the food info of course), and loving those side-eyes throughout! Wear patterns! HA! Now I want to go to Italy and snack my way through the place!

Great video (and description, definitely going to check out La Gensola)! I'm sure you can't have a take on all the food spots in Trastevere, but, any thoughts on Meridionale, Eggs, or Maritozzo Rosso? Lastly, do you have a recommendation of a place that has a reputation for doing Ossobuco well? Love your vibe, Katie. Keep doin' it, Miss.
@KatieParlaАй бұрын
Those places are cute. they don't really rise to the level of very strong suggestion for their food but they are more than fine. Armando's osso buco is my fave

@@KatieParla I know your focus is food. Maybe special things like Gluten free food in Rome. Since you know Rome so well maybe talk about the lesser known museums of Rome. It also might be nice to see the Flea and Antique markets in Rome. I miss Rome as I have not been there since 2019. Thanks again for your videos.

I didn't understand if it was a joke, however you can drink on the streets and/or in public in Italy and (other thing) to buy it you don't need to be 21 like the US or 18 like other countries (you'll only need to be 16 years old). I should make other points about "some" alcohol (spirits for example) but it would be long and tricky, in any case it doesn't involve the consumer (ever subject to any sanction) but only who sells. 🍺
@KatieParlaАй бұрын
it was kind of a joke in that everyone walks around drinking and in an informal survey no one I asked knew if it was technically legal. Thanks for sharing the real story!

Hi I go to Italy most of the times twice a year. I am now beginning to think about moving to Italy. I am a U.S. citizen. Can you shed a little light on how to obtain permanent residency in Italy? Grazie.
@KatieParlaАй бұрын
oh my! that's a very complicated process. there are many people more equipped than I. Check out Thea of Doing Italy www.doingitaly.com/

Strolling around with a plastic cup of beer and then a gelato means definitely not catching the spirit and the taste of Trastevere 😢 that's stuff good for tourists while it would have been of value discovering the tradition and beauty of the district showing about la festa de noantri, Cencio la parolaccia, il mercato di piazza san cosimato, piazza Trilussa, il cannone del Gianicolo che spara la salve a mezzogiorno, etc.. ..where are the trattorie dove "devi da magna come all'antichi"? There is a lot more to discover in the vicoli around... How long did it take you to edit the video? The video is published now in August but people are dressed with jackets and long sleeves...
@KatieParla2 ай бұрын
I filmed it in the late spring and published in August. What you are asking for requires a full day of shooting which I am happy to do if you fund it. though La Parolaccia would only be featured as a punchline not a place for quality food. Trattorie a Trastevere are mostly awful. Perhaps re-watch so you can update your understanding of the zone.
