What an AMAZING video! Never in a million years would I have thought of all these wonderful idea. And at first I was hesitant to think of giving someone a thrifted gift, but when I saw what you did with them, and how personal they all were, I couldn’t think of anything more wonderful and kind and how honored I would be to receive one of those gifts from a family member or friend. You have some Incredible Talent Katie. I’d love to see more of these videos in the future if possible. I've done this many times and combine old and new so I don't look cheap. People don't even know that most things were thrifted. Ive done many baskets with wine glasses and wine, teacups with teas, my favorite was a colander with spaghetti, sauce, checkered napkings and the tool for the spaghetti (my uncle loved it and still talks about it). Love what you did.

This is fantastic. I've been thrifting for gifts the past couple of years. My sister just gave my mom a thrifted quilt for her birthday. It probably would cost $500. It's a queen that's all hand stitched with birds. No flaws and she only paid $5.

Oh Katie! Brilliant ideas ! My fave are the magnet fridge frames. Super. But I would glue the magnets to the corners. Some of those mini frames are made of heavy resins so 1 magnet in the middle might not hold. The old kipsake box is something your son will keep forever. I have to tell you I was a bit hesitant to watch this because some people talk about Thriftmas and then they take you on a boring tour of goodwill and don't buy anything or don't tell you who they are buying for. The wooden box was my favorite. I loved the history and it looked so beautiful when it was restored. Differently can work for your son way into adulthood. I love doing cookie plates from the thrift store. I actually have been using upcylcled thrift items to use with my Christmas gifts. I have found some really expensive items to give over the years. I live in Mexico 9 months out of the year. It took me a few years to figure out the 2nd hand store here. But I am up and going now. I get funny looks from the Mexican people when I am in the thrift stores . They are wondering why a gringo would be doing there. Only poor people go to the thrift stores.😆 Thanks for getting in the mood to get going💖💖💖💖

The Valet box you refinished is exquisite! I just picked up a square crystal box that I'm adding lip balm and a gift card too. Was thrilled when I saw it and knew my granddaughter will love it. I take her to the Goodwill Outlet store and she digs and comes back with beautiful clothes and other items that chalk up in the thousands.

Katie that was a really inspired collection of thoughtful and thrifted gift giving. I've seen first hand when thrift-giving goes really bad but yours were presented with so much caring and knowing what your recipients would want. Honestly, there are probably much higher quality and beautiful things sitting on the shelves of thrift and second hand stores than what can be found in the big retail stores. Loved this. One tip I learned from the woman who made up gift baskets for our library's fundraisers. (Each basket contained an autographed copy of a book, and then she filled in with related items. One year, the C.J. Box basket was packed in an ammo box!) After she tied up the cellophane, she would take scissors to the top, holding with one hand and giving a nice smooth trim to the clump with those pointy parts. It just finished off the look.
