I just realized that I never updated you on the sale on this desk 🤦🏻♀️ it took about 10 weeks but it did eventually sell on Facebook Marketplace for my full listing price of $595.

I totally second that comment! I love how Katie Scott is genuine, funny and lighthearted, talented, and feels like she's already a good friend of mine but never met her. That's what makes a successful channel IMO. My name is Katie too, and I'm getting into painting furniture as I've salvaged a lot of furniture as well, and have the interest, talent and time to get good at this. Thanks again Katie!

I build a lot of bases for hutch top conversions- I love that you screwed two pieces of wood together to make a jig for gluing and clamping. That step gives me lots of grief on my builds and this tip will help so much!

That's pretty shocking that a piece costing that amount was not able to stand the test of time for probably even 4-5 years (since you say it is still on sale)! It looks fantastic after your treatment, and the wooden part looked in good shape (and solid wood too?),so it would have been such a waste to throw it all out! Great job, and an interesting video! kindest regards, k

You know....I was about to turn the computer off...go out on my patio and have a beverage...but wait....I saw a Katie Scott Salvaged post and a "Dumpster To Dollars"....Flipping a trash picked desk...and I had to stay...the patio can wait. Oh...I still grabbed my adult beverage, but I'm enjoying it with this amazing video of how you ALWAYS brilliantly transform a piece of trash to a treasure. I really enjoy your work.

From : Gentlemen In came the fancy gent ...all modern rough and sleek black shoes The party soon changed to disaster and the trash heap loomed As dump day approached , Ms Katie was on the prowl... a lightening stop ! A little push and shove and smiles were on -- all the way home " You giant jackpot ", Ms Katie mumbled Work was needed ... shiny shoes -- gone ! With measure and cut the soft pine fell into place There our sad boy stood ... Once kicked and tossed ... now subtle and elegant... like a good tweed jacket "You giant jackpot " was heard as Ms Katie dimmed the light with a soft wink ...

This is excellent! My experience is that most (many pieces of?) furniture is designed but not engineered. While we cannot know what happened to that desk before you grabbed it, for that price point the welds should have held. I like your wood base better and $595 sounds very fair!🌸

I will say I can't believe the metal legs failed on a $2000 piece of furniture. No, wait, this wasn't made in America. The furniture coming out of China is junk. What a travesty that we lost so many our furniture manufacturers. It's a crying shame.

Love what you do with furniture. This is no exception. The wood base suits the desk much better than the steel. I know steel gives the feeling of sturdiness but just look what happened to it. Wow. This desk looks so much better with the base you built. The metal legs looked cheap and out of character imo. The desk with the wood legs looks so much more expensive. Did you put some kind of floor glide on the bottom of the legs? Just interested because I have a piece of abused furniture I want to save. It just needs new legs and following the steps you took here I think my husband and I can make the legs even though we are novices. 😁 As always you created such value and beauty with this piece.❤
