The madness about this is that i have gotten dms on discord and twitter from so called "artists" asking me if they could make a commission for me. But when i ask what their art looks like/ what they made previously I will get previews that has 2 or more different styles and when i reverse image search i see that the art was made by a totally different artist

Oh right so I've been a mod in alot of servers and that scam has been going around for so long, 100% they use the same script and put it in a bot to just say it over and over. I've banned probably like 70+ bots with the same scam

If you get ANY dms from "ARTISTS" especially on discord, don't trust them. Actual artists *rarely* advertise like this, you can only trust accounts where the artists have a real comms sheet and actual people buying them & the finished product. I HATE these accounts and if you see any of them just spam report them ❤❤❤

I've seen.... 3 unsolicited DMs from people in Discord servers I've been mostly inactive in. I always check mutual servers and see what type of activity I'm actually involved in for those first. Cut one of them short instantly by mentioning that the only mutual server is one I'm not active in and that I am going to assume they were a solicitor. The other two were... amusing, so to say One of them was pleading for commission and tried whipping up some sob story of "working at some company" and "needing to meet quota" -- didn't even mention that they were supposedly an artist until I said "sorry, can't help you there" along with "potential scam that leads to phishing" and that would lead straight to a block list. Started off by talking about sending a sketch and asking for 50% upfront and 50% after immediately after I raised concerns about it being a scam. Which I then responded with them trying to pressure and guilt trip someone into buying a work - they didn't realize I was also someone who can make art and that I'd just... make my own if I could help it (they didn't check YT channels that were linked in bio) >_>;; OH! And apparently they asked to become friends!!! Which I turned down and said, "we'll see if there are ever interactions elsewhere and decide then" ...to which the guy responded with a :knife: emote that was quickly deleted, but since I saw it... block listed 'em immediately after stating I saw what was deleted The other one I started by mentioning the last solicitor sent a :knife: emote after I turned them down and got blocked, so if they were going to solicit... they should give up early. Ironically enough, it started off reasonably nice... until I commented the lack of a portfolio link in bio, the "non-existant Twitter" account link that wasn't functioning properly, that they can link their account properly in Discord to prove their identity so there isn't a dead link floating around. Just reasonable suggestions. They responded with not wanting to update because they had their art stolen before so they'd rather do DMs or something, so I responded with "I see. That sucks. Well, good luck hunting for commissions~" and the person flipped the fk out with saying I had trust issues (not them) and that they had a portfolio. Had to tell them those recommendations were just self-promotion 101, the most basic of the basics for trying to get commissions. And... erm... the person deleted their entire bio soon after that >_>;; My blocklist note is that they need to fix their self-promotion in bio before I consider unblocking them, and I think we know that is probably never happening at this point Sad thing is... none of these people appear to have anything in their bios that talk about Art anymore. So I guess there's a good chance they either quit or were scammers in the first place. Which is unfortunate, because it looked like one of them might have been an actual intermediate that was trying to work their way up based on whatever link was in their bio. Consistent art style, just that it was a bit lacking in places. Unfortunately I could do equally as well or better so I had no reason to commission unless I was desperate for extra hands, and that could never end well since it'd become an obnoxious client acting as a pseudo-mentor situation that'd suck for all parties involved

This happens all the time. They steal video's claim art to be commission there and if anyone does "hire" them they steal there money. That's why I always say triple check before you buy.

I’d feel upset if someone tried to claim Julia Winterpaw‘s work (my model’s creator) as their own. Smh.

seeing how the person just post like they rig in one day its insane, i have only made a whole rig in one day once because i was going to be late for the commission (when i started in vtuber making i didn't have a TOS, so they changed a lot of stuff through the drawing and so on phase) and even after i ended it and delivered, i asked them to let me refine some things that did not look ok in the final rig, so for me posting like you rig one model everyday its so wild.

It's kinda sad, that suddenly there are so many experts and artists appearing out of nowhere after the generated AI came up. They will either generate something fake or will STEAL directly from other artists. And sadly, many people are actually getting scammed, recently in the artist community these people have made lots of bad impression that comes out in the real artists names and people are unsure if they want to purchases a commission from someone that might turn out to be just another scammer. While in the meantime lots of real artists suffer the consequences of these fakers and thiefs. I'm angry and tired of such people! I used to be very frustred of all of these type of "artists" which steal stuff, use Ai generators, etc. that have never picked up a pencil, opened a program that artists use or have made any effort. I was and still am a lil bit frustrated on how many people are scammed and how many support fake 'artists' because they think their orders/commmissions will be faster when run through AI, or will be stolen faster, than it will be made in real time. But honestly I'm more tired than frustrated now. As someone that is an artist- you know..., not from the best but still a small artist, wanting to pursue art career, I'm tired of the fact that I have to 'compete' with thieves and fakers. While they have thousands of people following them and being scammed, many small artists are being unnoticed, despite we being honest and hard working. Sorry for the rant, just got angry for 10000000000 of time because of a thief (glad he deleted account, but that doesn't mean they are not going to make a new one and start over)

Depending on the rig it can be easy but take a few hours less than a day if it's simple but if it's complicated it can take hours or even days especially if there is expressions I'm not a professional rigger but I can do simple ones but even that takes hours that's why I just do it for fun and don't do coms cause it's hard

So... Additional warning: Some of these people might move over to direct DMs on other platforms and attempt to solicit that way. I don't have evidence for this; however, I have ran into a suspicious individual on Discord who... claimed to be an artist, lacked a proper portfolio in bio, the only "art related" content in bio was some obscure description and a link to a non-existent Twitter account, there was also no proper Discord link to the Twitter account either to prove it existed in the first place I commented on some of these issues to the person about lack of self-promotion and... they flipped the heck out saying I had trust issues when it was just general advice for self-promotion. Literally went and deleted the entire bio in their Discord instead of resolving the issues. Made some excuse stating that they've had their art stolen before or something so they didn't want to show it unless people asked -- which does make sense, but... also kinda not really...? Because you can always show work that you don't care about getting stolen that still show off your level of skill as an alternative if you are that paranoid, right...? I'd like to believe that it was genuinely a newbie that wasn't comfortable with all of the online shenanigans that go on with art; however... after seeing this and being reminded of all of that...? I think there is reason to be a bit suspicious after all. I told them it sucks what they went through and good luck hunting for commissions, but I guess they took it as if it were something condescending...? And maybe that was why they flipped out...? Oh well, that's their problem to deal with. They're blocked with a note that I'm not unblocking them until they have a proper bio set up for self-promotion

I agree that a designing of a model may or may not take 24 hour to design,but making them move that way dose takes many days, weeks or even months, as most artists dose pay so much attention to the details of the models movement and so on.
