At its core, the story of The Hunger Games is about the power of one person to change the world.
Set in the future remnants of the USA in a new nation called Panem, one male and one female "tribute" between the ages of 11 and 18 from each of Panem's twelve districts is forced to participate in an annual competition called the Hunger Games, which is broadcast live throughout the country for the entertainment of the Capitol's wealthy residents.
Now, bestselling author Suzanne Collins and the world of The Hunger Games return in her latest addition to the series: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

7:36 oh man I never realized the foreshadowing “If anything happened to your sister, forget the districts there would be riots in the Capitol” And that’s exactly what happened after Prim died in the bombing. Rue’s death started the Rebel uprising, and Prim’s finally caused the Capitol to fall.
@gamlaman
@gamlaman 5 ай бұрын
Not really, it was Snow seemingly bombing their own children that caused the Capitol to surrender (wouldn't even really call it a fall, the rebels were within eyesight of the palace, it had fallen already). Prim dying did (indirectly, through Katniss) cause the fall of Coin, though.

You may not know this, but the books said the reason she doesn't have anyone is because Snow had her family killed. Because she either refused to sleep with him specifically or because they wanted to make her a prostitute. Selling her body to the wealthy men of the Capitol and she refused. Thats why she's able to trash talk the Capitol without worrying about consequences. Because they took away everyone she loved and left her with nothing; so she has nothing to lose. Most of the victors are forced into a similar fate: become sex slaves to the elite or have their families killed.

Spinning the area had more than one purpose, while it did make it look like Plutarch was against Katniss, it also probably saved Enobaria and Brutus. Which is interesting, because if they died then Katniss's alliance would basically be the only ones left, which would probably expose their plan of getting out of the areana

@reviewcentral8406
@reviewcentral8406 4 ай бұрын
@@ggmoymoy No, I don't think that's why Finnick held Peeta back. In the books the rebels are given clear instructions to keep Peeta safe because they knew that Katniss would never agree to be their Mockingjay if anything happened to him. They even had one of the morphlings sacrifice their life to protect him. Katniss noticed it and even assumed that they wanted to make Peeta the symbol and she liked that thought. Like their entire rebellion (or at least the part Katniss played in it) hinged on them protecting Peeta to get Katniss to play her part. Them losing him at the end was an even bigger deal at the start of Mockingjay in the books because Katniss was basically catatonic and she refused to play along. I think it's mostly Snow using Peeta and seeing what happened to district 12 that eventually spurred her into action.

@@reviewcentral8406Agreeing with everything you say here, just one thing: What spurs her into action is Snow using Peeta, yes, because it confirms to her that he is alive. (Then of course, she realizes he gets it worse the more she works with the rebels, which...has the opposite effect).

I forget these moments happened in this film. I’m comparing the games and I feel each has its own reason to be bloody awful. 10th games were brutal; no training, zoo exhibits. I mean holy shit, for a whole fucking hour you hear that? and you can't leave? there is nothing you can do but try and drown out the sound. The best scene I think, worse than physical pain. But now that I’ve rewatched it, I think this would be one of the most, if not THE most horrific ways to torture someone. You’re breaking the person down from the inside out. Emotionally. Spiritually. I don’t know how a person could survive a whole hour of hearing the screams of your loved ones calling out for your help.

One of the implied things is that Plutarch was a rebel from the beginning of the series and the first Katniss Hunger Games was pretty much planned from the start to end with Katniss winning and driving up rebel thinking. Even the tribute mentors admitted that the Games are rigged by the administrators in order to draw up reality show style story moments, and the events pretty much always occurred in such a way to give Katniss an even chance at minimum, if not the advantage.

I think at one point peeta already figured some things out because of the way finnick and the others 'act' around katniss yet unlike katniss he seemed unfazed nor confused about it (cause being allies doesn't really explain everything yet he keeps make katniss sure it'll be fine).. Also i still don't understand where did peeta go before beetie electrocuted. Did he tried to find katniss like finnick did?
@alyssameekis4070
@alyssameekis4070 8 ай бұрын
yes he did, he followed finnick but he was too fast. in the book while she was near the tree she can hear him calling for her, so she did the same (not in the movie tho) and when finnick came out of the trees you can hear a cannon and that’s when peeta killed Brutus.

If it is a choice between the acid fog and the inconvenience of hearing birds saying hurtful things i know which hour of the clock i would hang out in.

@YimidhiirWakaminPama 6 ай бұрын
Not just “birds saying hurtful things”, birds mimicking the sounds of your loved ones (your mother, father, sister, brother, etc.) screaming and crying out for your help in a realistic way. That would tear you down from the inside out. I’d rather be running away from the acid fog. If you got burnt by it, at least it’s gone physical scars. Mental/emotional scars/damage would be harder to overcome. Just look at how some War veterans are when they return from war. Some of those PTSD scars never leave a person.

I was a huge fan of this series when I was maybe 9 or 10, I only ever rewatched any of this now at 17 about to turn 18. I never realized any of the subtle details in this at all as a kid, the way Johanna explains how she got those two out for Katniss, or even the more obvious ways its shown that the other tributes are clearly in line for rebellion, and the impact of Peeta's pregnancy comment. As a kid I even though Katniss and finnick's fear of the jabber jays was stupid but now I get why they were so afraid, and especially the showing of ptsd here.I really did not get shit back then lmao but now with a lot of the politics and war ive seen now as a coming adult its way easier to see that Johanna yes, hated Katniss out of envy, but all of them needed her terribly to instigate the war more, and all of Plutarch's hints. man its just really hitting me now and I'm back into my special interest haha

hahaha it's presaisly because she had to put it in her sheath in that scene, with a real arrow it's hard to do it without looking clumsy, its soupose to look smooth
@ShaggyRogers1
@ShaggyRogers1 8 ай бұрын
Putting an arrow in a sheath is super awkward, even for someone who is a trained archer with thousands of arrows behind the string. Drawing an arrow is simple enough to make camera friendly, but trying to get a take of putting an arrow back without the movement looking awkward af would have been difficult. Easier to just fake it and CGI in an arrow rather than go through a few hundred takes of the most awkward movement in archery.
