I’d love to try that bike.. the last four stroke I tried that I loved was the beta 390rr at that beta demo a few years back… I had so much fun on that bike I’ve been thinking about buying one ever since.

I recently switched from a KTM 350 to a Sherco 300 SEF. Like you, I love the suspension, turning and overall handling. The only time have have even noticed a little less power was the one day we went to ride in some wide open sandy conditions.

Makes you wonder if the other manufacturers will follow with 300cc, I know TM does one which incidentally won the second day overall by a decent margin at the the Portugal enduro GP a week back.

@@PNWEnduro The 2T certainly is great for the technical stuff we focus on now, although the 300 SEF can still do it. 👍 When Sherco fuel inject the 300 SE, it will be the perfect bike 👌 EFI convenience, 2 stroke torque - I can't wait for 2024. I've been updating every 2 years and my bike is only 12 months old now. It's going to be a long wait 🙂

Hey just curious I know that this sounds insane but I was looking to get my first bike, I'm 6 foot 230 pounds fit and Wanted a bike that I won't need to upgrade for a while. would the Sherco 300 2-stroke be too much power I'm looking to buy used a I see them for around 5k and there are very few 300 4-stroke on the market. A good review . I have a 19 300sefr and my mate has a 19 300ser we swap sometimes and we love both . They do the same job different. I think the 2 stoke is better in the slow grovel but the 4 stroke does a good job of it just need to slip the clutch a little when near the idle , the 2 stoke doesn't stall . The 4stoke flows better on faster trails and is easier to skim woops and holes with .

I had the 2017 4t. I sold it after I got the 2021 2t. It is a super-capable machine, wonderful in open terrain... felt like it wanted to pull your arms out of the sockets on technical steep stuff. I think the constant threat of flame-out makes you need to carry more speed than you otherwise might, making the bike feel heavier than it is.

@@PNWEnduro Thanks for the reply mate. I look foward to another review. I've been wanting to swap over to a Sherco 300 SE Factory or GasGas EC300 for my next bike. Currently on a '21 350 exc and love it. The little 300 Sherco 4t gets such good reviews, it's seems definitely worth considering. 👍

@@glennaltschwager5234 I’ve ridden a few 350’s and a few 250’s (4t) and own a 17 250xc 2t and a 12 500xcw. I’ve also ridden a 300 sef 4t for about 2 hours and I loved it. Any 250 4t Ive ridden has underwhelmed me with the power they make (most recently a 20 250fx yammy and 19 250xcf ktm) but I loved the Sherco. The power was great. Way more bottom/mid than any 250. I didn’t want to get off it. Doesn’t have to punch of a 350xcf but I never felt like I wanted more. I was also at 9-10000ft so power was down 20+ % on sea level. I’d own one in a heartbeat. Wouldn’t bother me in tight tech either other than a bit more clutch work and it runs hotter. I’ve also ridden a sherco 300 2t and didn’t like it near as much and I’m a 2t rider since the80’s. A/expert level for reference.

I know the 4 stroke is costlier to do a rebuild on, but what's the hour usage expectation compared to the 2 stroke? I've been looking at getting a 300 2 stroke but if something like this will let me ride it for longer without doing a rebuild, that would interest me, especially given what you are saying about the weight, handling and the torque.

200+ I'd imagine for a top end being a small bore. I usually go 150hrs for my 300exc for peace of mind but honestly it's always looked like I could get way more out of it. Even my crf450r has now gone 230hrs on the original top end but it def needs to be done as it was very tired at 200 haha
