An unadulterated version and vision of the actual truth of the Chinese government's efforts to eradicate extreme poverty in China. Witness the much better and modern housing, better basic infrastructures, educational and social facilities, etc, etc. Sadly, some section of the world prefer to remain blind about those achievements and would rather frame China as still existing in the 19th or early 20th centuries.

Spectacular documentary. This should be a "National Geographic" episode of "tribes and places you have never heard of." (My initial speculation of the white pants was correct. It must be based on the military uniform of some troops driven into the wilderness from ancient times.) Very detailed description of the tribe on Baidu.

You can still see those weaved bamboos used in houses in rural areas in the Philippines. Even some modern houses use them as an aesthetic now..beach villas in resorts often use the same or similar weaved materials. It's amazing how similar different cultures are.

Thank you so much for sharing your time in these remote places. I love people's attitude when you were asking about the pants, they were just like "What does she mean? It's in the name, we're the white pants Yao!" The drums were so cool too, with the wooden bucket to create that sound!

Interesting bamboo house. Never thought there are houses that can be woven with bamboo like that. Certainly worth the time to see those. I've seen bamboo houses in my young days around here, but it's mostly bamboo split in half and nailed on to make walls. Most of the time these bamboo houses are not fully made from bamboo though. Only certain parts. Today even if I go deep into the mountains there won't be a bamboo house to be found anymore. Guess you can find bamboo houses in many asian countries but certainly have not seen any woven like that in my life. Woven bamboo baskets we have a lot in our rural communities. Beaded necklaces and wristbands, even beaded clothing can be found near indigenous villages here. All in very colouful designs.
@kats_journey_east2 жыл бұрын
What country do you live in? This was my first sighting of bamboo houses too, bamboo does not seem to be endemic to this place , seems the people brought it in from somewhere else since it was only growing around the village and not in the wild in the mountains

@@kats_journey_east I think the attempt to make such a long video is worthwhile. Presenting the process of exploration as raw as possible, rather than generalizing and replacing it with your own words, will greatly increase the credibility and intelligibility of the work. I watched this video twice to avoid missing any interesting details. The government's investment (road building) and subsidy (houses building) have helped the Baiku Yao people out of the harsh living environment, which is definitely a commendable achievement. Hope that there will be more policy support for the development of the rural economy in the future.
