When Lucy walks up to the guy asking for directions to Filly and is pointing the gun at him, Jonah Nolan and Todd Howard said that's an intentional nod to gamers, since when you play the Fallout games you almost never remember to holster your weapon before approaching an NPC so you basically just start a conversation with them while pointing a gun at them. I adore that little wink at the fanbase.

The introduction to Lucy was just like character creation in Fallout 3, including her tagged skills. Maximus seems like a character build used to exploit the Idiot Savant perk in Fallout 4, a Luck + Endurance build with intelligence set to 2.

Have you noticed how her "oki doki"s become darker and darker as the show goes on ? On here "wedding night" it was all bright and full of joy, when she left the vault it was all ready sounding more apprehensive and now with the head chopping it was resolute with a hint of disgust. Just keep listening to how she delivers it each time from now on. It's an indicator of her characters progression. Marvelously acted by miss Purnell.

I read or heard somewhere that the weird wastelander who points Lucy in the direction of Filly was played by an avid fan of the old Fallout games (1 and 2), who improvised his posture to match the "dejected villager" NPC sprites, which were called "losers" in the game files, apparently. Just one of those little details that make the show so Fallout-y.

That moment when the Yao Guai appeared behind Tidus - Instant Karma 😂 Willzig being from the Enclave, I’m not surprised he knows so much about Lucy’s vault since the Enclave were originally the “powers that be” behind the vault program. The President of the USAA was hiding out in a vault 6 months before the world ended, so I’m sure they were aware of a lot of information behind the vaults and their details as Willzig stated when talking with Lucy.

I played all those Fallout games and I can tell you this has its heart in it. It has the right horror-satire vibes and it's carefully crafted to fit with the games's lore and time line. The Enclave agent left his facility, which is kinda out of the way, but also still needs to be by places. This man is out and about and so is Lucy now. He sees a fire on the wasteland, a clear no-no, and goes to help. furthermore, which you'll find as the story goes, he knows Lucy.

The first parts were translated at pirate studios, famous voices of the 90s. And when the official stores opened, the former pirates came and voiced parts 3 and 4, they were already officially voicing Vegas. Now everything is turning around, but okay... Oh, and the shopkeeper maybe being thought of in Fallout 3 was Moira, loved that character. Very wacky, sent us out to help her complete the survival guide. And Kat's right about the Fallout London mod, actually just saw something about it on here on the BBC KZbin channel going into details of the release getting pushed back due to Bethesda's next gen update and it likely breaking the mod (and tons of others, perhaps. You never know what's going to still work or not after a big update). Everyone on the show does a fantastic job. And it's the little things in the performance by Walton Goggins I like, as much as the more obvious things. I don't know if I noticed the first time, but after he uses the stimpack on the dog and she gets up, you can catch him smiling (can see it in the reaction here at around 23:12). Don't know if that's an intentional thing for the character, or just left in as the take used. I suppose I like to think of it as an unguarded moment and window of humanity under the badass gunslinger exterior, and echoes of Cooper before the bombs dropped.

I just checked Nexus, and no idea if it still works, or the quality of it, and conflicts with versions/other mods. Tried to get into NV some years ago and somehow with my then RX 580 I dropped below 20 FPS even in the very beginning, while not going anywhere close to even 60 FPS. Might be different with my current gpu but I kinda doubt it. The Gamebryo engine is notorious for this kinda stuff.

Somebody pointed it out that the Lucy actress, Ella Purnell, is also Arcane's Jinx. That girl has some range. Two other things (teasers, not spoilers, IMO - your milleage on the subject might vary): In retrospect, it's not farfetched that all the characters keep bumping on each other (we'll have to get to ep 8 for a more detailed explanation, sorry). Finally, Doctor Chicken was hawking potions to heal feet. Just saying, for future reference.

I'm pretty sure the ammunition The Ghoul uses are gyrojets, experimental rocket-propelled ammo in the 50s-60s, but this being Fallout they might well have been more successful.

Unlikely, since gyrojet ammunition are basically micro-rockets -- and the slugs leaving the Ghoul's gun are flat, lacking the exhaust nozzles of real-world gyrojet ammo. My guess is his gun's a character-unique modded shotgun revolver, loaded with varied high-caliber rounds: slug, AP, hollow points, and maybe buckshot and HE.

Just to clearify ... Bethesda's update to Fallout 4 has changes/updates that will break the new massive London mod (and many others) that was to come out... that is why the London modders are delaying their release until they can make it compatible with Bethesda's update.

The absurdity comes more from the games because of people having Perks/Traits. I guess you didn't catch any of those. Most obvious ones are Lucy's brother Norm having "Small Frame" trait and Ghoul having "Bloody mess" perk. There are a tone of them if you focus on this.

I just consider information about perks and traits most important next to SPECIAL system and VATS. You as reactor and also Fallout gamer should remember this and consider mentioning it because not everyone from your audience is familiar. In short, if you know something from lore or basics from the source it would be great to mention that. I think it's great addition to just basic reactions (such as "wow" and "omg") I'm lately seeing. I'm not trying to offend you here, just want reactions to be better.

Well, reaction videos are just that - reactions. Sure we spend some time talking about the episodes afterwards, probably longer than many others, but we are in no way obligated to inform people about lore, game mechanics, and so on. That would require us to write down a bunch of things and prepare what we want to talk about, which, as I just mentioned, we don’t do, and frankly doesn’t have the time to do either. Plus, while we have played some of the games, we are in no way experts, and we can’t just instantly recall everything we know while watching an episode and trying to also focus on story, characters, etc. If people really want to know about lore and all that, then I suggest they look for breakdown videos instead.

I know we are in episode 5 and all, but you shouldn't think too much of Maximus actions. In this episode, it wasn't that he simply wanted the armor, Titus didn't care one bit about the Brotherhood, basically saying the Clerics are full of BS (due to the nature of the technology they are finding). He also was quite disrespectful towards his squire, which is something they mentioned earlier. Being disrespectful and causing harm to a BoS member is a sign of weakness. Titus was indeed, not worthy of the armor. Maximus just let him die due to how he treated him, and gained the armor because there's just no way he is going to do the mission without it anyways. But, he thinks just bringing the target while letting a superior die is going to make easier on him. Too many people are focused on not liking him, instead of focusing on the way he does things. And it's a shame.
