I like the way Shannon Sharpe interviews, loose and relaxed. Not trying to force it on the guest he's interviewing, which is probably why Katt Williams was comfortable letting all of it out on Shannon's platform.

Shannon Sharp didn’t create that show to interview people. He created the show to create a safe space where the guest can have a drink and open up more than they could in an actual interview.

Katt would not have signed up for an “interview” if an “interview” was what Katt wanted to do he wouldn’t have chosen Shannon’s platform. An “interviewer” directs and controls the conversation/ much like an interrogation, while a conversation is more organic. Conversations go where they go Interviews are much more likely to have an agenda. Shannon did a great job and accomplished the mission, to entertain and allow Katt speak his truth.

you lost me on critiquing the way Shannon interview process went. His interview style was PERFECT for the guest he had and the engagement that was needed. We wanted and appreciated the storyteller in Katt, not a host (like your self) to direct and guide Katt on what he should be answering to. It's crazy how you cookie cutter personalities follow this 'path' of what is supposed to be instead of treating each interviewee as a separate unique experience. That's what ended up happening with Katt's interview. luckily shannon hasn't been dulled in his new role as host to craft and construct a narrative instead he was able to just let the magic happen. I like Mike, but sometimes these 'degreed' ppl are as dumb as a box of rocks.

He's not doing structured interviews; he's having a chat, a conversation. In a chat sometimes you lean in, sometimes you fall back. He fell back because what katt was delivering was gooood... it WORKED. 42m views because of Shannon, not in spite of Shannon. If he cut him off, and went on a tangent about the math on 3000 books or whatever, they'd get caught up in that and the interview would get contentious and fall apart. And it would be like the interviews of Katt like all the others before it... that did not get 42m views! Nobody talked about Pat McAfee's rambling style. You see? Y'all are "journalists" doing KZbin. Get your own show and get Katt then ask him all the "active" questions, otherwise get your heads out ya asses. I understand the criticism & it’s more than fair coming from veteran journalists. But everything is always 2020 hindsight. The interview was perfect & everything that needed to happen or be said in that moment was. Leave it there & appreciate the moment for what it is. And not questioning everything just sets up a possible part 2. Great job Unc 👏🏾👏🏾

Katt lied for three hours. He's hysterical but some of that shit was inflammatory.

Thank you gentleman on the left for being objective, we must learn to celebrate people's win. The problem is alot of you trained journalist think you know too much and turn off your guess thinking you know their business better and try to outshine the guess on your program. I think every trained journalist can humble themselves and be open minded and see what Shannon did. No one is perfect but remember that even a clock that is not working is right twice per day.

A journalist would've over-talked Katt. That's why it wouldn't work with anybody else. Trending questions aren't interesting alone. Tell us about what we don't know.

Katt did an interview with Larry King that was phenomenal. I loved watching Larry because he would ask the questions then shut up and let the guest talk. I can't watch these "journalists" now, they're too busy trying to be the "star" instead of doing their job.

I've watched Shannon since his inseption into media dont really care for alot of his stuff and how he does it, but over the past 10 or so years he's grown into a heck of an interviewer.like he said it was a conversation keep going shannon

Shannon stay blessed u did a good show Katt was amazing as usually all the demons that have come with there negativity annoy them 💯 there just jealous Shannon design a platform where guest can feel comfortable and free safe space to open up and not be judged and drink and have a nice conversation. And also to set the record straight. Guy with the glass be quiet black jacket. Guy in brown jacket made sense Shannon interview was Phenomenal

Unc said himself that he's not a journalist or interviewer. His platform is more of a conversation with his guests.

SMH, you would of failed in his position Micheal; let the moment be, the old way of thinking would of cost you a great interview; don’t make the interview about you brother, that’s the problem with the old media

Great discussion I do think it was more of a convo and if it was more structured as an interview we would not have the abundance of gems that we got from the Convo
