I feel like this box was a little miss-matched. The paper didn't exactly match with the products given especially due to the pencils being water soluble. The metallic pencils are also part of the regular line instead of the academy line, which everything else was in the box. I feel like they could have given like one pencil instead of a set, and then opted to give everyone a paintbrush and some kind of white product like you said. I have actually tried the regular Derwent watercolor pencils, and I think they're a bit chalky and not as vibrant compared to the metallic ones.

Alot of the time, when I'm watching an artist make something awesome, I'm focused on paying attention to the little things they may not notice, but are invaluable for me to learn some new things to try to improve myself. Then I watch it again just for the fun part of it lol. :)

I usually have KZbin on in the background while cross stitching I’m currently stitching hocus pocus from cloudsfactory it will be finished by the end of this week in plenty of time to be framed for Halloween 🎃

I really love how both the Autumn Comfort Witch came out and the Mushroom Cat Creature came out! As to what videos I have on in the background.... never an art or craft video. If I choose to have one of those on (including yours), it's because I want to see what they're doing. The ones that I put on so I can focus on are usually news videos or stuff about history so I can listen, learn something and be able to keep crafting (I like to knit or crochet while listening to videos sometimes).

Thea Moore I do know Strathmore remove lignin and don’t use OBA’s which helps significantly to prevent fading. As I said, i’ve never had a problem, been using it many years, but I coat in pan pastel and uv spray before beginning my piece. If the paper faded significantly in just 2 days as you sate, I would definitely recommend contacting Strathmore as that sounds like you have a very faulty batch. All coloured paper - irrespective of manufacturer - is subject to fading eventually but 2 days is not the norm at all. Maybe they can refund you.

Cats, mushrooms, and witches are my favorite things to watch you draw! These turned out so cute. I love the longer format videos, as long as they have voiceover, the longer the better! =) I don't tend to work on anything else during them because I want to watch the art, but I do like sketching along with things like artist interviews, streams, and unboxings that don't include art.

You're so right about speaking & thinking positively. I really enjoyed drawing hands until I started hearing so many professional artists say drawing hands was difficult. I never even considered drawing hands was different from drawing anything else. Yet unfortunately after hearing so much negatively I actually became intimated about drawing something I'd once been approached with enthusiasm. Words are & thoughts are so powerful! I do all of the above when watching art videos. I really depends on what type of art video & the length. With tutorials I watch with purpose & then let them play in the background as I draw. I like 25min+ for meals (so I don't feel as if I'm eating alone) & drawing alongside. I save 40min+ videos for when I'm sick & can't draw but still need to be near the art community.

Derwent is a British product that is competitively priced, and accessible for young aspiring artists. They also have a professional line but there is not a lot of difference between the two. When one starts with the academy pencils they can then replace them one by one with the single sale professionals, the colours are pretty close if not identical.

Hej😀 I usally put you on in the background while I color, watercolor or diamond paint. As you can not draw and speak at the same time. I can not draw and listen, at the same time. When I draw, I block out everything else. And the drawing have my full attention. It might be because I'm so new to it. Because I have no problem coloring or painting, with one eye on KZbin, a podcast or something else. But when it comes to drawing. It's hopeless. I like how this box gives you a full set of colors. Not sure if someone else has already mentioned it, but Strathmore also makes their toned gray and tan papers in a mixed media version which is 184 lbs. So, since you like the tone and texture, but want something thicker, it's probably worth checking out!
