Definitely. Besides, this film was the first part of the book, so the second one is a must. In this first part they still haven't completely got rid of Pennywise. And if you're going to watch LOTR then it's a trilogy. You have to watch all the movies or if you watch Harry Potter then that's also based on the book series and they made a movie series out of it that's worth watching. I understand that you always don't want to watch all the sequels, but some sequels are worth watching.

I loved the original since I'm a huge Tim Curry fan. But I must say Bill (not going to even try pulling his last name) was amazing in this version as the clown IT. This made me a huge fan of his. Fun fact I loved is the thing he does with his eyes is all him and not cgi or some special effect. He was phenomenal in this movie and truly scared most every actor in it.

The adults are so indifferent, because Pennywise has a hold on the town. IT has a way of altering people’s perception. Pennywise is not just a clown, it’s a cosmic entity that has been feeding on fear as long as there has been fear. IT’s control over Derry and IT’s history there, is why you’ll find that when people leave Derry they don’t remember anything about it. Much love! Can’t wait to see your part 2!

The only problem I have with this Part 1 version is how they set up the showdown. It’s very different in the book and not so “we have to save the princess.” I won’t spoil it because I haven’t seen the miniseries version in ages and I forget how they do it, but the book is a lot more exciting and fluid action. I also love that they kept a ton of the “It” lore from the book. One of the best parts was the kids going back through the town’s history and realizing all the horrible stuff that had happened was because of Pennywise

I felt a little guilty about watching you squirm with this one, Kat, there were moments when you looked absolutely horrified by it. Cool story to lighten the mood, during the scene when Pennywise contorts out of the fridge to terrify Eddie, Bill Skarsgard, who played Pennywise, was really concerned that he traumatized Jack Grazer who played Eddie. Once the director yelled "cut" Bill ran over to Jack to make sure he was okay to which Jack enthusiastically replied "Love it! Love what you're doing!", much to Bill's relief lol.

The opening sequence is so well done. The only difference between the book and this movie is that in the movie, Pennywise bites Georgie's arm mid bicep whereas he rips the arm from the socket in the book. If you haven't read the book and have the opportunity, it is really good and I actually got into trouble with my teachers in 7th Grade because I couldn't put it down. They did such a good job on this movie and its sequel

Wee! My kids were terrified of the trailer in 2017 (they were about 11 and 12 at the time) and for some reason they kept scaring each other with the KZbin trailers... but a couple months ago when I felt they'd grown a little (16 and 17) I showed it to them. They felt a bit let down tbh. Not a bad movie, better than the mini-series, and probably the best version of the novel we'll ever get... but still too heavily reliable on fake-outs and jump-scares. Skarsgård is great though.

Yeah, I agree. I’m glad they left in The Apocalyptic Rock Fight, but they left out a lot of lore, like The Black Spot and the French Canadian loggers bit, The Turtle, The Deadlights etc, and I especially disappointed by Mike Hanlon’s arc. I know it’s hard to squeeze that much context and content in a single film, but the true horror of IT’s influence came from the indifference at best, and hate at worst that IT instilled in the community to cause fear, which she would then feed on. I liked The Stand a smidge better than IT, but if they decided to do a film adaptation of The Stand and it was done as well as this adaptation, I’d be happy (compared to the ‘94 miniseries abomination)

Hiya Kat ☺️ Another great reaction on the channel. I was one of the people that voted for the original IT movie/TV mini series and l am pleased that you will visit it at some point. I think for me personally, the 2017 film is very good and of course scary when it needs to be. With IT 1990, l feel that goes more for the creepier vibe perhaps and Tim Curry is just spectacular. With the recent films, the special effects, acting, casting etc is what you come to expect and l think with the popularity of TV series like Stranger Things as well with the whole kids combatting evil trope being in fashion made it the right time for the remake. Anyways, fabulous upload and l look forward to the next one ☺️👍🏼

When you meet your friends at a gathering , you should do the "wiggle run" to them to greet them 😆 🎈 LOL

Absolutely my favorite movie of all time. and a bit of trivia for you. The scene in Bev's bathroom now holds the record for the most fake blood used in a single scene in any movie, beating the previous record set by the bed scene with Johnny Depp in the original Nightmare on Elm Street. There was no CGI used to cover the room or the actress, everything was fully coated in stage blood

There is something "strange" about the "wiggle run"...it might be comical in the right setting...but in a dark moist creepy basement...Hell No! Sitting in a darkened cinema...this movie gave me major jump scares. I LOVED...LOVED the experience. Stephen King...is indeed the KING of creep! Loved your reactions...great channel.
