I’m having trouble being able to record my performances. When I hit record I only have two options a midi recording (which doesn’t keep the original sound once I export) and a wav that is recording all ambient sounds. I was really disappointed by that. How can I record and get the full real sound of this piano?

Hello Marv, thank you for your comment. As you correctly note, the PianoRemote app supports two different methods of recording: MIDI and audio. When MIDI (SMF) recording is used, the app will capture the keyboard and pedal movements performed by the player. When this recording is played back on the piano, the sound heard should be identical to that of the original performance. When audio (WAV/FLAC/AAC) recording is used, the app will capture the sound produced by the piano using the device's built-in microphones, meaning that ambient noise will also be recorded. In order to record *just* the sound of the CA401, we would recommend using an external audio interface connected to one of the instrument's headphone connectors, then connecting this audio interface to your smart device. Alternatively, you may also wish to try connecting the headphone output directly to a portable recorder (Zoom etc.) and bypassing the PianoRemote recording features.
