Fantastic review - thank you so much! You play amazingly well and love your accent too! I currently have a Kawaii grand piano and am a fairly advanced player. FWIW I mostly play classical music. I am selling my grand and am looking for a keyboard that will give me the feel of my grand that I can bring on my future boat to sail the world. So I don't know that I need all the bells and whistles but the key action is super important.

@@gianlucaricciuti7777 hello, I never experience a problem in the keybed, but that's probably because I never bring it outside to gigs, the Kawai stays in my home studio, the keybed in MP7SE is more enjoyable to play & firmer close to acoustic piano than the MP7 which I regularly play in my church

Appreciate your review. The number one reason why I was interested in finding a suitable model Kawai for myself, is the quality of the keybeds and key actions that Kawai has. For me the feel of the keys, is nearly as important as the piano sounds. I’ve tried most of the popular name stage pianos in the one to two k$ price range, and even the $700.** Kawai ES110 played better than the Yamaha CP4, and all the rest of them The MP7SE that I just ordered is supposed to be available next month, and your review helps add to the consensus of other positive comments about this keyboard and also affirm my decision to buy one. Thanks.🎶😀

@stradaveriusfiddle3 жыл бұрын
Stu with Merriam Music has a comparison video for the Yamaha P515, and the Kawai ES920. Closest thing available, considering the 920 has the same model key action as an MP7SE , and has some of the same grand piano sounds. The important thing that Stu demonstrates is that it takes more weight to make keys on the Yamaha go down to play a note. That was all I needed to know to check that off my list. I was stuck with the same problem on my Yamaha CP4, for three years, hoping that it would ‘break in,’ or something and maybe eventually play a bit easier. I had to finally get rid of it and will finally get a decent keyboard when my Kawai is shipped in a few weeks. 🎶🎹😊

I have the MP7SE and in no way does the SK Grand sound like it does in this video. It sounds much more wooly and muddy sounding tone and I'm not the only person to have noticed this. For some reason in youtube videos the SK sounds brighter and cleaner than it is in the flesh. I spoke with someone else who noted the same. So either some post processing is going on, or Kawai altered the sample onboard on later models shipped. The only way I have found to slightly improve the SK is by altering the setting in virtual technician. For this reason I find the EX to be better.

There are many good stage pianos. Each has its own niche. Kawai focuses on the main piano sound and action, but those things are not necessarily the most important if you're trying to cut through a band. Robust sounds and functionality are very important on stage. Nord and Roland dominate the world of stage pianos, partly because they cut through, and partly because sound engineers like them. If you need a piano mainly for solo/duo work, but which still has sufficient functionality for stage use, the MP7SE is probably a good choice.

I enjoy the acoustic piano feel and sound and want a good action, but I mainly want to use it to create music through Logic Pro as well as more classic synth music. I will be getting an acoustic piano in a couple years, so once I get that I will use my keyboard for music production. With that said, what would you suggest? Are the synth sounds in the Kuwai good? Is the flexibility in editing sounds good as well?

Hello, thank you for the great review. Maybe you can help me with a question. My MP7SE has been delivered today. Now I'm not sure if the action is like it has to be. It's like in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2W1kqF4eZVrpck This video is about the sound of the action. But this is not what I'm complaining about. It shows also how the keys are bouncing. Is that bouncing normal? Or is somthing wrong with this action? The Keys of my MPS7SE are bouncing like in the video. And it's even a greater differece in the strength of the bouncing of the seperate keys. Some are bouncing more, some less. I think this bouncing has interfering influence. But I'm not a expert! I'm a newbie! I can't see any bouncing it in your review. Maybe it's because your way of playing in the review. Would be glad of an answer.
