i think the reason it looked weird in dragon mode is that the blades on the back are supposed to make hind legs, but the lack of gold paint, which from the pictures, probably supposed to make it look like feet, makes it less prominent

Just finished watching the latest episode of Rerise and it looks like Par based EX Valkylander on Cuadron. So the dragon mode isn't a biped but a quadruped. That's why it looks so awkward lol. The gunblades are supposed to be the rear legs, and the gold portions near the tips are supposed to be claws. Since they aren't color accurate and don't have those gold-colored tips/claws, they don't resemble clawed rear legs at all, but ended up looking like weird extra appendages instead lol. But in any case, Gundragon mode still looks awkward no matter how you slice it :)

At first when i got mine i thought the same about Gundragon mode, but then i read the manual and paid attention, the Gundragon mode is supposed to resemble Cuadorn from the anime, Par was inspired by him and modeled the EX Valkylander after him, thus the lack of arms and shorter fragment wings, its a bit of an odd choice but the kit is still solid, if you like SDs and Dragons i recommend it, I got two and have created a Custom version of the Valkylander mixing the base one, the EX and the avalanche rex buster all together and will be giving it a custom paint job.

like the Justice Knight being "upgraded" into the Aegis Knight the evolution seems to flow backwards to the Suits they referenced, in the Valkylander's case an Astrea Type-F into the regular Astrea, not sure that was meant to be an intentional theme.

Funny how this is another 'backwards' upgrade. What I mean is ... Valkylander (GNY-001F Gundam Astraea Type F ) ➡ Ex Valkylander (GNY-001 Gundam Astraea) ZGMF-X19AK Gundam Justice Knight (ZGMF-X19A ∞ Justice Gundam ) ➡ GAT-X303K Gundam Aegis Knight (GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam ) 1:21 "Sold separately..." Of course it is. This line up has become DLC basically with how many things are sold separately. It's ridiculous at this point. If we get RGs of the _Build Divers RE Rise_ series, hopefully they don't do this sold-separately-DLC method of selling things. 2:18 クアドルン ... Ku a do ru n 2:36 At the very least, painting the red circle details would be pretty easy to do; especially since the bare plastic is white. 4:40 The hollow plastic parts is a bit of an eye sore. 9:41 "It's...a chicken." 🐔

The detail on sd kits can be surprisingly good, and then the joints, stickers, and hollow parts just really bring them down. I guess for kits around $10 not to bad, but I really, really want them to get better joints. Limbs always fall off SDs if you try to change their tiny little poses.
