Actually these are slightly different since they absorb your chakra if you get impaled. On the other hand pains rods received chakra signal to control 6 pains . But still both types of rods are terrific if used correctly.

I think we can all agree that this was the best episode of Boruto so far, and I personally think this was a great episode in general and not just a great Boruto episode. The last 3 mins gave me chills and shivers throughout my body, they animated it the greatest they possibly could. Best way to end the Part 1 of the Boruto, it was an excellent ending!!

I love that Kawaki has this really interesting parallel with Hashirama of all people. He basically says the same thing that Hashirama says to madara, about how he'll do anything to protect the thing most precious to him, even if it's family. Cool direction for his character to basically be an end point for what hashiramas world view is and how it kinda can lean into "end of Shinobi" thing that marks the timeskip we see at the start of boruto. Kawaki is easily the best new addition to the series, no question.

This episode, especially how it ends, gave Boruto Part 1 an excellent ending. It was truly well done. Not gonna lie, Boruto could be so much better. Just because will have a time skip it doesn't mean that I will forget everything that happened before this last episode. Every show has their ups and downs but Boruto stayed most of the time on downs. Naruto and Sasuke nerfs and what about Kagura's death? It was stupid. They could've developed better other characters such like Metal Lee and worked on their powers without nerfing like crazy Naruto and Sasuke. But I'm optimistic about part 2.
