Appreciate the video. One note, those are jam nuts on the base of the bolt you were turning. That’s why it was so hard for you to turn. Loosen the jam nut first and you can turn the bolt in with your fingers, then tighten the jam nut back. Same size, 12mm

Thank you for posting this! I misplaced my manual, and the shop I had it in had just told me there was no adjustment, just get new brakes.

You’re very welcome! Wow! Get new brakes, SMH! Unfortunately, some only care about the initial sale but not the service after the sale.

Awesome thanks. I wasn’t 100% sure on this. Great help. I have same model on my farm in Australia and same issue.

Good way to strip the threads without loosening the jam nut.

Thanks, good tip to share. I won't trail ride unless the e-brake is adjusted properly.

Absolutely! It’s actually dangerous if it’s not. I don’t want me or any family members to get ran over so I make sure and keep it adjusted.

I have the same problem with my 2016 diesel model, I’ve made this adjustment more times than I can remember now and it always walks itself back out… any suggestions as how to make it a permanent fix?
@arrowjmfarms2 жыл бұрын
I don’t know that it could be made permanent. I’m guessing it’s a combination of brake pad wear and stretching of the cable but you’d think the cable would eventually settle in.

As stated in another post on this, you need to check the "JAM" nut on the adjustment bolt! Loosen the jam nut before adjusting, and tighten the jam nut after adjustment while holding the adjustment screw with another wrench while doing so. Shouldn't move after that!

I wouldn’t call that an emergency brake, hand/parking brake yes but you would not want to pull that in an emergency you’d flip the fucker!
@arrowjmfarms Жыл бұрын
Haha true. Parking brake is the correct term I believe. Old habits calling it an Emergency brake.
