400 owner with 4000 miles on the clock here. You can absolutely pass on the highway at 70 or 80 without down shifting just fine. It won't be dramatic or have much fanfare, but if you want that, you can always pop it down a gear or two until the revs match your ego.

@africano393 жыл бұрын
highly recommend the 400 to anyone..regardless of experience. I've had my 2019 brand new purchased and let me tell you...I'm not tempted to upgrade..This bike is good on the highway, after the breaking period..it got even better...very nimble, forgiving, and fun to ride.. I do my own maintenance on the bike from oil & filter change to chain adjustment, slip on exhaust ( didn't like the slip on went back to regular exhaust , but removed the silver cover..) & fender eliminator switch...also installed dark zero windshield, and tank pads...Great decision on purchasing the bike Brother...

Thanks for watching. This vid was from 2020. I loved the bike but it's sold. Picked up a pre-owned 2013 Monster 1100 EVO. I agree with you the Ninja 400 is awesome! Has plenty of power for daily use or track duty. And to become a better rider!

Appreciate your review. I’m currently looking at getting either a Ninja 400 or Ninja 650. I’ve been doing lots of research on both bikes, watching countless reviews. However, I have noticed most are by much more experienced riders, not really people who are starting out or have very little experience like myself. Thanks again for your review! Safe riding🤘🏽
@MattieXMoto4 жыл бұрын
Hi Chad - Thanks for the feedback and well wishes. Good luck with your search. I know it's only a video but check out this MC Commute video for the Z650, which is practically 99% the same bike as the Ninja 650. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3izYnZ5nbCleqM. Also I can tell you that after owning the Ninja 400 and riding other more powerful bikes, it really comes down to what type of riding you want to do as a beginner rider? If you will be on the highway a lot I def can see where the Ninja 650's extra torque will be an asset! It's a little heavier than the Ninja 400, but the weight difference wont be felt once you are on the move. Also if you ever plan to take on a passenger, extra torque will also help there. For me, my goal was learn, do track days, and no need for passenger, thus I chose the Ninja 400. Keep me posted on what you decide either way!
@chadmurray25794 жыл бұрын
Hokagé Ninja thanks. I’d be traveling on the highway frequently, which is why I’m leaning more towards the 650. The added weight and torq would be helpful.

Good title to the video and I agree, a Ninja 400 is plenty for the freeways and capable of being a fun bike. I had a Ninja 250 2008 for 15 years (before trading in) and pushed it to its limits, which was often fun. That little bike could reach 110 mph and was capable on freeways as long as I wasn't trying to pass everyone instantly. Going up steeper hills was a challenge though, so it needed momentum to gain more mph rather than leveling out. The 400 solves that. Great fuel economy too on smaller bikes or parallel twins like the awesome Ninja 650 and Ninja 400, 300.

So many good things in this video! First off, I love the honesty and I love that you didn't shit on the R3 or other bikes from other manufacturers. I live in MD btw and totally understand the riding seasons! Great overall insight on the bike. I love the perspective from a true beginner. I've test ridden this bike and think I'm going to grab it used. I've had a triumph street scrambler, GSXR750, and a TU250x as my first bike. The ninja is the best of the bunch! Its a bike you can easily keep for a lifetime! Put some more miles on that thing! Also, what frame sliders did you get and how do you like your arai helmet? Love the look of your windscreen too!
@MattieXMoto3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob, thx for the kind words! Love the Arai and while many helmets are prob great, I feel confident and comfortable in the Quantum-X. I have since upgraded the visor to the dual visor with the sun blocker on the outside. "Proshield" i have put more miles but need more. Agreed the ninja400 is a great bike for many tasks. Commuting, medium distance, track, beginner, expert. Etc. Btw the windscreen is zerogravity double bubble. Be safe 🤙

$5,030 out the door? You stole it my man. Probably because it was still pandemic-ish, who knows. I bought a 2020 abs with 6k miles for 4,500! Anyways, great bike. Nice power, lightweight and very user friendly. In fact, I like it so much I’ve started to contemplate keeping it instead of doing a trade in and just simply buy the 600 I want.

In Japan & Germany for instance, you have to pass a rigorous course (usually taking a couple weeks) to earn your license (4 and 2 wheelers). And even that isn't really enough to get a real feel for riding a bike. Rather the bare minimum. Be safe out there!

Bike looks dope bro.....take as much time as you need to get comfortable with the bike on the road. I'm a semi-beginner rider, but first time bike owner, i was gonna get the 2020 Ninja 400 KRT Edition.....but i didn't want to pull $5255 💵 from my savings, so i settled for a 2017 Hyosung GD250R for $2900. Great learner bike to get the KEY 👈 Fundamentals of riding a bike on the streets & highway...1. Aware of traffic, 2. Control of the bike & 3. Learning the gears. Been owning it about 2 weeks now and got 107 miles on it, bought it brand new with 5 miles, looking to sell or trade it in to get the 400. But i just came across the 2021 Ninja 400 KRT Edition, so i think i'll wait until they are available. REMEMBER..." SAFETY STARTS & ENDS WITH YOU 👈, RIDE DEFENSIVELY, LOOK ALIVE AND KEEP YOUR HEAD ON A SWIVEL !!! " 🏍💨✌

You are in love with your bike and that is ok but should read more about other motocycle brands before saying they are garbage. The Suzuki GN125F have been fabricated since 1981 and it is one of the most reliable motocycle under the 125cc; its an excelent choice for beginners; of course Suzuki has more options with bigger machines. When I bought the bike it was pre covid and i was able to negotiate off the sticker price down to $3,899 before fees and taxes on a brand new ABS model. I post a screenshot of my sales order here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3jJqH6dq5WceZY. Now with covid, motorcycles are harder to get and dealers are rarely giving any discounts. Even used ninja 400 are close to new prices.7k out the door with no discount sounds right with fees and taxes.
