@@tktk-om8cg it would depend on how you are riding and racing, and exactly what year you are looking at. The 2021 zx-10r is highly restricted with no cure at the moment. GSXR motors engineers have done incredible job on low and midrange rpm power with their VVT system. As you said, it’s not usefull on max speed, but on street or track, you can exit curve very quick without downshifting. Great explanations. ps : have you ever thought installing HAVC system to get consistent T°C and Humidity conditions inside your room ? A 1000cc bike sucks 1L/tr/min. So, at 14000tr/mn, it sucks 14m³/min or 840m³/h. That is the air you need to extract from the exhaust. So you need the same to compensate pressure from outside. So, with 38°C and 80%humidity (high enthalpy), you would need a 19kW cooling system to get that air down to 25°C/50%Humidity. Plus, some extra (i think quite a lot, maybe the equivalent of the bike power * 2) kW to cool bike down… It’s just an idea. I very expansive idea, but as you said, Devil is hiding in details!
@BrockDavidson3 жыл бұрын
The last thing we want to do is alter our dyno numbers even more than an average dyno. We pay attention to details that others do not, so our readings are already a bit higher than most in normal atmospheric conditions and considerably higher if the dyno owner does not maintain the dyno well. We completely evacuate our room 8-10 times per minute and draw from a 10K square ft heated warehouse, so normally aspirated bikes are no problem. Supercharged bikes are the biggest issue as a glowing red exhaust will raise ambient room temperature 30 degrees in just seconds - trying to keep room temp under control for those conditions would be exceptionally cost-prohibitive.

I think for a normal everyday rider that's not pushing the bike constantly, and only goes to the track or the twisties every so often, but the bike is more of a daily; a full system isn't worth it. The stock headers are fantastic. If you have the money go for it. If you don't it's not too big of a deal. But for someone who is gonna be pushing that bike. The bike gets to come out to go lay some smack downs on some people, then yeah, that's a massive difference.

Hi Brock, I’m Bob one of your new subscribers and somewhat new to the muscle bike world. I think your channel is great! Thanks for sharing your informational videos. I’m investigating in my bike and trying to get the most out of it without spending a small fortune. I will be having the ecu flashed, installing a Sprint air filter and changing the sprockets to 15/44. Most important to me is the sound profile of the bike. Currently the bike has a Two Brothers slip on and it sounds ok but not the tone that I’m looking for. I have a question regarding tone that I hope you can help with. My question is, is there an exhaust for a 2008 GSXR 600 that will produce a deep tone? I realize that I might be asking for the impossible but can that bike sound deep like an R1 without having a cross plane crank? If I were equating the tone to a muscle car exhaust, it would sound like something with a Flow Master Muffler on it. Again a deep but somewhat hollow / tinty while at idle sound. I appreciate any input that you might share! I suppose the worst case scenario is that I need to purchase an R1 for that deep rumble sound that’s most important to me. Below is a link to a video that has an example of the sound profile that I’m looking for. This example is of a Honda CBX 1050. Thanks again! kzbin.info/www/bejne/opLPZoidi96cn7c

Hello Bob, glad you are enjoying our channel. We work hard to provide exactly what you are asking for. Unfortunately we no longer offer a system for your bike as we focus primarily on new models. I think your best bet would be to check out Hindle Exhausts. They make a very good system, at a reasonable price and they understand to importance of a good tone. I will warn you that 600's are naturally "peaky" but a robust tone with out the "tininess" found in lower quality or worn out mufflers. Hope this helps

If I understand correctly, that ZX-10 made 209HP at the wheel with MR12. So, what are the full modifications on the bike besides the full exhaust system and the tune? It can't jump from 160something to 209 with just an exhaust and a tune, 49HP is a huge leap.

@BrockDavidson4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, adult ADHD is tough to control sometimes - sorry about that. The information you need is in the long description. If you mean the dip at the beginning - no need as it doesn't exist in the real world. If you are in 5th gear and whack the bike wide open at 2500 rpms, it will either leave the alpha n mapping and change to speed density, of the bike will die (if set up in a true 1-1 throttle config) either way, what the chart shows and what actually happen are not the same at low revs on the dyno.

Looking at the Dyno comparisons, what is an ideal AFR to achieve, 12.8 or 13.2? Or does it all depend across the spectrum? And, for most ZX10Rs (RRs), is there an average cut-off in power, such as power begins to drop at 13,200 RPMs?
@BrockDavidson4 жыл бұрын
That's a loaded question as the best AFR for the dyno (static application) is typically not the best for the track(dynamic application). While the power drops off on the dyno (static), it doesn't when the ram air is functioning (dynamic). This goes into more detail: bit.ly/2EJ1zAV

@@silverviper2184 I guess you're right to some degree. Tracks like Daytona and Brainerd would favor peak horsepower. Technical stuff would favor torque but if the bike is too torquey it could be a handful to control on the corner exits. I marked about an inch of 2 after the 2 pipes merge on the 1(4-2-1), but I noticed on the exhausts in the video it is in the middle of the 2, from what I can see only mostly getting readings from headers 3&4.

In the elbow pipe, low...just after the secondary collecter. From as close to on top as will fit to keep moisture away.

Hey I have a 21 zx10r. I bought your clutch mod and springs kit . I’m not just drag racing. I want to use my QS I street ride/race and I like to hit twisties. Should I not install the mod and springs ?
@BrockDavidson2 жыл бұрын
It's up to you. Installing the mod disabled the slipper, some guys don't mind this on track days, some guys want the slipper. The good news is that it's easy to swap.

Is it possible to have two ECUs for the ZX-10R ? So I can leave one at Stock Settings and one flashed ?
@BrockDavidson4 жыл бұрын
Yes. Our customers do this frequently. Is easy on the US models, euro models with the immobilizer key are tricky, but we can do them also.

Something I don't get, why the CPU wouldn't compensate automatically for baro pressure change on a low pressure day ? bike cpu's don't have a sensor for inlet pressure ?
@BrockDavidson5 жыл бұрын
They have map sensors. But, unlike cars the only active tuning is related to emissions and noise control at cruising speeds.

Please take both bikes or the testing will be worthless. Mph same day would be good comparison.

Hello Brock, I have a question for you. Which engine do ya think is bulletproof? GsxR or ZX10?
@BrockDavidson4 жыл бұрын
We have a long history with the GSX-R engines dating back to 2001...you have to TRY to break them and they will fight you all the way. One of the toughest engines ever, IMHO. We have been working with the 10's since 2011 and have never broken one, they seem to be tough as nails also. Can tell you about previous 10's.

Brock What about the bracket for the steeringdemper? Do you sell that?, what does it look like?
Hey Mr Davidson, I have a 2006 zx14 and I bought one of your systems back in 06 not long after I bought my bike new. I actually switched over to e85 by switching all my numbers in my fuel map using my laptop. It made over 191hp and ran really good but e85 got difficult to find near me and my injectors were at 97% duty cycle so I switched back to running 87 octane and I bought an alien head for a good deal on a zx14 forum. Anyhow my computer crashed that had all my fuel maps and my pc3 is loaded with a map that isn't right due to me changing my individual numbers by anywhere from 30 to 40 points. The guy that owned the dyno let me play around for the better part of the day to get my airfuel right and getting the horsepower up. That said I just have no idea which numbers i manipulated from the 30 or the 40. Is there anyway you could send me a fuel map for the alienhead? Oh yeah I can't go back to the guy with the dyno as he passed away a couple few years ago with kidney failure. I'm sure he would have had the maps stored in his dyno computer. Anyhow I can send you pics of my exhaust either the alien head or the carbonfiber canister to prove I have what I say I have and not trying to get something for nothing. It's been so long and I can't find the cd that had the maps on them that came with the exhaust I bought new from you. Thanks Mark

Mark, No problem! Just go here and request a map: blog.brocksperformance.com/map-support-purchased-used/ our Map Support Team will ask you for any info. they need to verify your purchase. If you want to send some pipe-side images to MapSupport@BrocksPerformance.com , that will speed things up.

@@BrockDavidson ..... thank you ...also i was wondering if the ecu was ever hacked to unlock big gains ? At one point there was only a few things that cold be done. I'm just wondering how I can get my bike to compete with these doggone litre bikes nowadays . One more thing do the gen 1. Zx14 respond well to mild headwork....... thanks for the reply

@POPSMOKE, since the 06's were euro 3, there really weren't many ECU restrictions that removing the secondary throttle plates didn't cure. In fact, we went VERY quick and fast with the stock ECU and some bolt-on tricks. Full stories here: blog.brocksperformance.com/kawasaki-zx-14-06-11/
