i am always delighted to see the cleaner in his elements, so humble and efficient at what he does. Which reminds me i havent had my forks serviced for quite some time, might need to check that out :/ While we are on the topic of forks and calipers, how do we prevent caliper thefts? it seems abit rampant these days.

There is no fool-proof prevention method. You can switch the bolts to unique head/design type, park in really safe area. Personally I would prefer to head-shot the thieves but sadly that's not gonna happen.

Close to a day.. These types of work need time so be sure to set aside time for it otherwise leave it with the shop to be worked on.. Also making an appointment is good so they are prepared.

Fresh pads? Squeak when you brake, or just squeak when the tire rotates? Maybe the callipers are not opening wide enough and scrape on the disc, or the disc may have some wrap in it?

Sometimes it depends on the type of brake pads you use, the material composition.. If fresh pads, might be the surface still being skimmed on the surface of the disc.. Don't try to put any lube to reduce the squeaks! :P
