I had this same quad. I bought it and it was in bad shape. I fixed it all up and it was beautiful when it was all completed. Then someone stole it!

Hi thanks for commenting on my video to me it sounds like the clutch is not working properly your primary clutch is is not disengaging is what it sounds like to me that means that it is turning all your gears in the back which will make it grind so I would take the side off where your clutch is and check your primary clutch if you're careful you can turn it on with that clutch guard off and see what's happening. Hope this helps you

Thanks for the video showing your process of elimination. So did it turn out to be the crank or something else? Mine is making that same noise and it smokes and I have very low compression on one head on my 650. I'm going to me tearing down the motor soon so I'm curious to what you found.

I have watched a couple other videos. People were commenting that this is a common "problem" with this and Kawasaki says that it is a common sound and will not hurt the engine. It is just annoying. Someone mentioned a $300 kit that evidently fixes this problem but that's too rich for my blood haha

Try turning your idle down, if the idle is to high it won't shift and it'll just grind really badly
