Edited for an update; my non-ABS KVS needed a longer brake line to reach 12" bars, the factory brake line is just long enough to reach, but doesn't leave you enough slack for fork travel. I would say that the guys re-using factory lines are living on borrowed time, it's only going to take one good pothole to extend the forks and tear that line off the fittings. The throttle cables and clutch cable from Nightcraft are spot on if you want to run "cables-crossed" (like most bicycles do), but the throttle cables look funny if you try routing them down the same side. I'd stick with the original throttle cables if you plan to do that.

To fix the misaligned switch blocks drill another hole in the bars further around. That way the switches will be where they should be. Great look with the apes. ....and yes, paint the exhaust black.

@douglasbaxter33464 жыл бұрын
Cool it’s common practice to put something like dab of paint or sealant on the locating pin and dummy fit the hand control back on the bars how it would of stock bars so you can get to all the switches as normal,remove and will leave the sealant or paint as a mark to show where to drill and centre punch and drill a hole so the locating dowel,can do it wile bar are on the bike not hard to do and be fine also use some lock tight on the bar clamps and clamp them down and let set over night the bars will not move in the clamps again as apes are known to shift back wen coming for rides ,also they are bringing that bike out in a 1100cc witch is cool too be a fun bike to rip around down on,I run apes on my harley but are a few inches taller then the ones yous fitted

Recently got my L's here in victoria, and picked up my first bike. Was thinking about swapping out the bars but looked like a bit of a grey area with LAMs "the motorcycle must be in a standard form as produced by the manufacturer" which is seperate to "not modified in a way that increases its power mass ratio" . Even though its not effecting power to weight sounds like something a cop having a bad day could pick on, thoughts ?

Next tool purchase if you don't already have them...JIS screwdrivers or bits, Japanese bikes use JIS heads on screws, like a Philips but not quite, that's why sometime heads on screws get ruined. You can buy just the bits or the full driver set.. or even individual drivers. JIS is Japanese Industrial Standard ,sort of makes sense eh..
