I am a taller rider 6ft 1. Bought a new 2020 z650, was worried about the height but my legs fit comfortably below the tank, and my feet are in perfect position. The stock exhaust might not sound the best, but personally I think it looks the best out of the bikes in this class as well, and you cant match the price and quality so it was an easy choice! 😊
@matjon12344 жыл бұрын
All your videos are great! I have a z 650 and you might not know yet some cool features. 4 gallon gas tank, dash with several modes and stats, you can adjust the shift indicator, the tail light is a z and there is a seat for taller riders. However I'm saving up for a corbin seat.

No matter the bike you choose, you will always realize the opportunity cost of the other bike. No matter what you do, there are days when you feel you made the wrong choice. I also feel that in this class of bike, it’s a compromise, and most people have settled - it’s not a Hayabusa. I would like to have one of these because these are more like the Toyota Camry of bikes, and I’m a rather bland fellow. I would need frame sliders - and training wheels - big windshield - deer whistle - touring trunk...

You cannot compare them as one is a cafe racer and one is just upright naked. Compare like for like,Suzuki make a naked upright Sv 650 so why not compare that as the seat is better the handle bar height is the same as any naked and hay prestos you have a bike to compare, and it’s much better, I know I’ve owned one for years and loved it so much I am thinking of getting another one.

Price was also good since the 2020 Model was released this year and the only difference is the TFT Dash I do not care for and a slightly lighter frame. Awesome bikes, nice comparison. But a few issues with this is, 1. that’s the latest version SV available today, 2020 Z650 has been out over a year now for less money with all the upgrades. 2. Average human height is 5’4.5 that’s right men and women, I know the world is a midget right!? But if we’re talking about just men it’s 5’7 that’s including all the third world countries. So okay the USA it’s about 5’9, and you guys are 6’ and 6’3? So on a bike designed for an average height human, tall guys like you two will always complain of ‘crampness’ on something like the Z. Then the SV is the X version, Spite wouldn’t have the problem with leaning forward too much, should have been the regular SV that’s more comfortable, though I think the seat is the same wooden plank. But I know, not ideal, you compare and work with what you got, and that’s fine to.

So my friend and his wife have an mt07 and a z650. Of the two I've only ridden the mt07 (which I loved, coming from an mt09 owner) but the second i sat on the z650 I was blown away with how tiny it was. Because it is SO narrow and the tank is so short it FEELS smaller than my old ninja 300 even if the seat height might be slightly taller. Definitely my first recommendation for the shorter folks out there. I hated the shape of the handle bars though. Too much rearward sweep and a little too narrow for me, but again if you're a smaller build they might feel more appropriate.

I owned an SV650 snd now a 650RS which is very similar to this in most ways. I really liked the SV but LOVE the Z650RS. Bike feels like it has a lower CG which makes it more enjoyable to toss around. Yes throttle sucks as it does on all new bikes trying to meet fuel regulations. Riding position is more comfortable, my wife or kids are WAY more comfortable bike looks great with SW motech side bags so I can use the bike even for grocery shopping for the 7 of us…. And the “lack of character” thing sounds dumb… I don’t recall the SV being any more enjoyable in any way. Actually here in sofla on very hot summer days stuck in traffic my 2003 SV650 literally cooked my legs… the Z650RS doesn’t do that. If it ONLY came down to that I prefer the character of “don’t effing cook my damn legs” to anything YN thinks the competitors offer… Also the SV seared my wife’s leg with its stock exhaust and she hated the bike after that. It’s nice they put the exhaust totally on bottom both from a CG standpoint but also from a don’t cook inexperienced passengers’ legs standpoint
