Rode this thing, it is sooooo smooth, linear, and confidence inspiring. I'd buy it over the Fz 09

Jayden Valentine Mv Agusta F3 800cc, loved the look of it and it's lightness. The engine was great but it had electronic issues, it didn't start! Before the Mv I had a Triumph Street Triple and a Bonneville both good bikes.

Miguel Does the Z900 handle as well as the street triple?
@Miguelito0oO

getbent it handles well but it doesn't feels the same. The Z900 it feels more planted and the ST is more on its feet, if u know what I mean.

I wish you ended video by saying "But it really wheelies nice"..!!! Nevertheless fantastic review... So it lacks Ride-by-wire, Quick shifter, Traction control, top of the line suspension (Showa/Ohlins) and Brembos Radial breaking system; all of which is available on All new Triumph Street Triple 765. Does absence of all the rider aids and top quality components really make hell of a difference for an average rider?
@ripmax333
@ripmax333 7 жыл бұрын
for me it can make a difference if the prices are very close, if the 765 costs just a little bit more than the Z900 i would be happier with it, for veteran riders the z900 might the best buy but to me the fact that they didnt put Traction control was a bit of a bad move because it would be suited more to less experienced riders and adventuring into bigger bikes.

I've got a 2003 z1000 at the moment and was wondering how this bike compares in power to my current bike and if it's a better choice than the GSXS1000.

Z900 has more power than a zx10 up to 8000 RPM. Waay smoother than the Suzuki.

After some reserch, not an easy choice but I would take the kawasaki over the suzuki. Actualy from all the naked bikes for different reasons, price, power, looks etc etc...... z900 2019

I get that everybody loves all the new trinkets on motorcycles like rider modes, and traction control, and ABS. But I'm an older rider and none of that existed when I started riding and to be honest I wonder how much safer these things make you. Are you safer on your bike with all these additions than I am with smooth throttle control? I like the fact that this bike doesn't have all the crap on it that gives inexperienced riders a false sense of security. I don't depend on something else to ensure I don't go down.

@kimw200blaze4
@kimw200blaze4 Жыл бұрын
ABS is good. The need for traction control or rider modes is not so necessary. No matter how experienced you may be, in certain conditions you probably do not have to skill to brake effectively enough at a fast speed in an emergency situation and not lock the wheels up. ABS prevents this. The same if you had to brake on gravel or in rain.

Please advise how this compares in handling, throttle response, braking, etc to the Kawasaki Z900?
@keatonlatner8412

well it's a Kawasaki Z900 so I bet the handling, throttle response, and braking, etc is quite comparable
@exothermal.sprocket

Handling is solid, well balanced, and leaning is neutral. Chassis provides VERY good feedback about the traction. Throttle response is very tractable, doesn't lurch hardly at all, is very controllable at all speeds. Braking is strong, not M50 Brembo bite or strong, but it's very adequate and confident for being axially mounted 4 piston units. No fuss, no worries. The engine on this thing is a surprise. Butter smooth, very torquey everywhere, rev happy, easily controllable without TC or power modes, and did I mention smooth? Gear ratios are super good. Nice lower 1st gear and nice cruising 6th gear. Perfect. Stock it weighs about 463 pounds. Exhaust and lithium battery could get it into the high 440's. Suspension FOR ONCE isn't soggy or flabby. I'm about 200 pounds with gear and it works very well for me. It doesn't see-saw or sag, or wallow. It's great.

LOL at him saying; "The passenger seat is only fit for an 8-year-old girl gymnast". It's small and too far high up. Kawasaki put a fake passenger seat on this bike.

love the bike but that seat looks uncomfortable and the handlebars still put you in a leaning forward position. Don't think I could ride it for any length of time. I have lower back problems and have broke my upper arm close to the shoulder and had surgery to put a metal plate in it. So leaning my weight on the bars would definitely hurt. Guess it's time for a cruiser. Maybe a Vaquero. The old Kz 1000 would be fine if they made a naked bike like that.
@surg23
@surg23 7 жыл бұрын
That's a big issue for me too. Seating position, Seat comfort, cramped cockpit and forward lean take this bike out of contention for me sadly. It would take more than a set of bar-risers to fix all that.

I just had one of these as loaner when my 1290 superduke was being serviced. I personally didn't like the ergonomics, i'm 6 foot tall and my legs felt cramped and there is a lean to bars. i would not like to ride long distances on it. But having said that it seem to be good value for money if you like the riding position as for the wheelies.......meh was glad to get the ktm back : )

Couldn't agree more Richard. I'm not a big guy, but yet it seems every naked and sports bike I sit on makes me feel cramped, And my boot almost always get's wedged between the pegs and the exhaust or pillion assembly. For me, the SDR is the only sports orientated bike that's actually comfortable. Not that I've ridden all of them, but it seems to be the case for most. The only thing I could compare it to is a sports-tourer, And the GT is testament to just how easily the SDR was from transitioning into one. There are many things that KTM have done wrong on this bike (at least true of my 15 model) but I have to give them credit fro thinking outside the box.
