Not running on 4. Verify you have spark on each plug . Check valve height on intake and exhaust accordingly. Ensure no air leaks on intake, float height is set properly fuel is flowing and primary/main jets are clear. Adjust/sync carbs. As bike warms, the thermostat will open causing fluid to overflow from radiator if the cap isn't on. (Runs under pressure to reduce boiling point). Put cap on radiator. Check for continuity on temp switch. Could hardwire fan to check its operational, then revert back to original wiring. Good luck

Thats alot of information lol. Cap was on cooling system, spark is fine in cylinder 1 but it definitely wasn't running properly on 1. It was firing working but not correctly. My guess is its carb related on that carb. Thanks DL

Another good vid mate love watching them looks like someone sitting on the back of the bike all wrapped up lol

Did you not check the fan when you had it off? Doesn't sound as though it's got all four cylinders running (admittedly video is bad for sound of an engine) ...great to see the exhaust doesn't leak 👍. I bet the coolant wasn't very nice lol. Ride steady and stay safe Charlie 🤟

Cylinder 1 wasn't right, the carb tune was showing that. It evened out with some throttle but still wasn't right. I need to check cylinder 1 for fuel issues. I think but I'm not sure that the carb onn1 dropped some fuel out into the pod filter so I may need to check the carb float again.

Sounds like it's running on three cylinders but hard to tell on a video, plus you can get a inline thermostat that goes straight on the rad hose and you can adjust the temp

Hi Martyn, would the in line thermostat kick the fan in? It was running on 3, I think the first carb was having issues. Need to check the float I think.
@tvda53 жыл бұрын
@@motorcyclerescuer Yes mate it will kick the fan in and you can set the temp for when you want too, it is a thermostat switch put in line on the hose pipe.

@@tvda5 thats brilliant Martyn, I'm going to look into it mate. Thanks for the advice

Just a thought have you tried bridging the thermostat wires to complete the fan circuit to see if the fan works if it does then its your thermostat is to blame , like i said just a thought.

Yes I've powered the fan and it works, one of the pipes had a small pin hole in it so I don't think it was running properly. Also as you say I think I need to check the thermostat and replace it.

It will be the lowest pipe. Take that of and drain it.

Have you ever had a aprilia sr125 2t they seem to be getting good money at the moment

I like the original ones although they literally have plastic gears in the gearboxes. I prefer the cagiva mitos or cagiva planet bikes

Thats not running on all four

I think the 4th kicked in when the throttle was open a touch, all 4 pipes were hot and about the same temp. But on low tick over the first cylinder didn't seem happy. I need to look at spark on that cylinder otherwise fuel related in that carb.
