Love it. Totally agree with the plan to just go over it safety-wise, freshen up what you can without going overboard. Customs and Bobbers are great if the donor bike is utterly knackered, but it sure is a shame to ALWAYS see old school bikes hacked up and flat black paint poured over them. By the same token, you can reserve true frame up resto money and labour efforts for a particular model of bike that you love, versus just any old random machine, right? Kudos!

I found this same bike in my dad's barn, last registration was 2010. Maybe been run once since then. It looks like I need to do a carb rebuild which scares me a little but damn I want to ride this thing! Gave it a nice wash today, it's really good condition aside from a little rust and the turn signals are all cracked off. I would love to have this as a fun and quick bike to ride to work and around town. My dad used to ride it all the time until he had a few close calls and parked it for years but it deserves to be ridden again. Awesome video dude.

Enjoyed the video! I have a zl 900 Eliminator but unfortunately noticed a clacking sound from the engine, took it to a shop and they found that the valves were all nicely aligned so there's probably something above the piston or something else deep in the motor. Fixing it at the shop would cost way more than the price of the bike. If this is something you have experienced I'd love to hear some tips! Anyway great bike and great video!

Rebuild the carbs, especially the float bowls, as most likely they are not dealing and petrol leaks through. and change oil. I had this on my gsxr 750.
