Kawasaki ZX6r J2 Replace Alternator Cover

The last item I really wanted to get done before the new riding season is the alternator cover. This is scratched and corroded and I feel really lets the bike down.

Just bought a j1 6r and the stator case is corroded so will be changing , found your video very helpfull 👍especially the jis screwdriver info 😀 cheers

Great video mate. I was hit knocked off my zx6r g1 yesterday, and cracked the stator case, thanks to your video I'm gonna tackle the job myself

Hi Luke, sorry to hear you got knocked off and damaged your bike. Hopefully you are OK though. Glad you found my video useful - it was pretty easy actually. A tip though would be to make sure any dirt or dust that might have got onto the stator is cleaned off and lube it up with a bit of oil. I didn’t do that and mine made a faint high pitched noise on startup that the camera didn’t pick up but went after 5 seconds. I’m thinking it was a bit of dirt perhaps. Good luck!

Choompa! - just had to re-watch that to be sure but it is definitely on there 16:02 - but thanks for highlighting a possible error. That gasket on the floor after the cover goes on is the old one.
