Kayak Fishing Battery | DAKOTA LITHIUM | Power Box

One of the products that is the hardest to find the right fit for kayak fishing has been a good battery source. The best that I have found so far that is both a great battery, lightweight and isn't insanely expensive is the batteries available from Dakota Lithium. Dakota Lithium is an excellent product. I made my own power box (Solar Generator) with the 12v-18A DL battery. It powers the CPAP with a DC-DC step up, keeps the iPad, family phones and night light during a severe power outage. Now when i go camping, the DL powerbox and a foldable 50w solar panel has me covered for a long time. Thank you Dakota Lithium

I need a solution to keeping my trolling motor battery charged and lasting without dying. This sounds like the answer. Will the battery die and be worthless if powered all the way down? Is it easy to maintain and recharge? Does it come with a charger? I use my trolling motor on the back of a 15 foot canoe in the event that the wind is blowing to hard.

So I just got one of these. Is there a way to hook the depth finder up to the power box other than the black and red? Maybe wire it to a cigarette adapter so I can plug it in the power box? Do they make adapters? Anything will help. Really don’t wanna have to run the cables from the depth finder to the posts.

I run my refrigerator on my 52AH and 100AH all the time. I haven’t tried it on the smaller batteries but I’m sure it would work, it’s just not going to last as long. I’ve run my Snomaster fridge on the 100AH for three days and it would have probably have lasted much longer

Chad, where do you mount this in your kayak? Have they thought about using one the shorter "marine" style box like that Orange flambeu ammo can? Something with a low profile that will fit under a cargo net? Just a thought on a product that I will most likely end up buying because my time is worth more than my money!!!! Even if I do my own box, I'm going will dk lithium for the source.

I just picked it up yesterday, I wonder if my batter is defect or not...I only use my submersible 10K lumen on kayak night squid fishing. The batter died after 4hr when my 7ah lead acid lasted 10hr just for a single light...

It was either not fully charged or defective because it should last much longer than the lead acid battery.

That’s all dependent on the motor you use, what kayak it’s on and how much it weighs and the conditions that it’s being used in. So, open ended questions like that are tough to answer. The easiest way to get a baseline is to determine the current draw of your motor (AMPS) and then use the Amp Hour rating of the battery to get a ballpark

Nice setup. Especially that weight. I have a small pelican case setup like that with a traditional battery but it weighs as much as my PA12 😂 might need to get the battery until the whole box comes out. Is the box rigged with fuses to each port?

BluegrassBodybuilding&Fitness I have used this one on the Elite 9 Ti for a trip and a half several times with it on the entire time. If I cycle it to standby when I’m not using it, it lasts even longer

Why don't you have a battery meter to show what percentage of the battery is still charged? That would make this a PERFECT option! Otherwise, I will need to choose a competitor that has a battery meter.

I have Garmin Striker 4 Plus and put standard female wire terminals to connect it to the 12v battery. With the Power Box, what would be required to connect the fish finder to the box?

pctierney just attach the wiring directly to it or add i. A pig tail to connect it to the fuse lead that’s included with the box. The easiest connect for the fish finder power cable is the terminals on the top or the blade style.
