I have been going back and forth looking at this Kayak vs Spending $400-$500 more for the Feelfree Moken 10v2. I keep coming back to your video and I feel I can get everything I need with this kayak just as much as the Feelfree Moken. The only pro's the Moken has for me is the wheel in the keel and being able to stand in it, but honestly I would never stand to fish on a Kayak anyway. Your video has shown me that I can get everything I need much cheaper than buying some high end Kayak. And the extra money I save, I can use to purchase the extra gear I would want anyway such as an anchor trolly, scotty rod holders, an 8 inch hatch and more, and Still Spend Less than buying the Moken. The Teton is much more affordable, decent quality, has universal tracks, more deck space, and lighter to carry on my own. It's perfect for someone who just fishes occasionally or for recreation. THANK YOU for your review and helping me make my final decision to pull the trigger!

I'm happy I can help! That's what this channel is all about. The Teton has gone up in price unfortunately. I purchased mine for $350, not it's $480 at Dick's. You'll still come out ahead because all the other kayaks have gone up as well. It's nice knowing there are still decent purchases out there. Thanks for watching!

Same here guys I have a pelican kayak with just about every accessory bought just not installed yet. After seeing yours with the stuff on it, well today after work I think I'm gonna finally do the installation and get it done for once and all. Keep up the great videos and you have yourself a new subscriber as of now. Thanks and happy fishing to you all.

I have watched a ton I mean a ton of kayak mod videos. My opinion yours has made the most sense because of the basic kayak which probably meets most people who are watching this type of videos. Thank you for what you do, I have subscribed and look forward to other videos.

good stuff...I've done some similar things with mine. I will say, the cup holder on the track mount is a must have. Mine has a slot on side for phone but I don't use it for that...I slide pliers and some times scissors in there. Cup holder big enough for a nice size yeti mug for coffee in AM or for some other cold drink in an insulated holder. If I'm fishing and it cool out and no drink is needed, I can toss lures in there. I used pool noodles under the seat. It raised it up a bit and provides some cushion. I may go to 2x4 as the pool noodles get smashed down over time. All in all, it's worked well and provides a bit more storage. Rod holder on other side for track mount. Crate in back and I used your bungee pass through system. I have a basic anchor trolley just using caribener to the carry strap. Plan to install a permanent solution soon but it's worked well. I anchor mostly in mud or sand so I used a rubber coated 8lb dumbbell. Got mine for $400 before prices went up and it's been money well spent.

Thanks for this video man I recently just got a 400 dollar kayak and loved it until I saw everyone else 1000+ dollar set ups and rigs and I felt discouraged BUT this right here showed me how possible and easy it actually is to make my kayak the way I want it to!! Thank you sooo much for this I wanted a fish finder and all this kind of gear and some people said it might not be the best because of stability for your kayak and I said I guess I don’t really see where your coming from because I have to force flip my kayak to make it unstable! Yours is very similar to mine I have an Axe Elite 100 kayak and I have the tracks and space for all the gear you mentioned! I’m gonna give it my best thank you

I have a Teton too and I found you can take the bungees and wrap them back around the hooks to keep it away from your crate and then make it entrance secure by little screws and rubber washers

I appreciate the video. I have the same yak and did put dry storage in front and back. Using an S-biner to attach the dry storage was so simple yet so genius. I'm off to search for a 2x4...

You'll appreciate having the 2x4. It make a big difference in my back now being as sore and also sitting a little higher or better paddling and casting leverage.

Add a retractable cloth line reel to the 2x4 for anchor line... just splice the line with paracord for easy cord management. Saved me a ton of tangles and mess

Hey great setup do u have any problem reaching behind the seat. To grab a lure box from the crate ?
@RelentlessSportsman
@RelentlessSportsman Жыл бұрын
Good question. It's a little tricky but I got used to twisting around, while keeping my balance. If I fish for one species, specifically, then I will only take one tackle tray and keep that under my seat for easier access.

Great job man. Very unique how you utilized your bungees. I may try that. I’m about to do another video on mine and I’ve been wanting to do the block of wood for awhile but my question is how much does it affect your stability? The reason I want to do the block of wood is that if it DOES get rough and it does affect stability, I could easily remove it on the fly. Again, great setup 👍
@RelentlessSportsman
@RelentlessSportsman Жыл бұрын
Thanks! With the bungees, I didn't like the idea of stretching them out too much by going all the way around the crate. For stability, I didn't notice much of a difference. It 'feels' a little less stable, but I think it could be all in my head because I sit higher. So far, so good with that though. I look forward to seeing your newer kayak setup video.

I’m looking to get my first fishing kayak and want to make sure it’s a good one for the price (looking for less than $500) what do you recommend? I am juggling between a few including the lifetime teton angler and the pelican sentinal 100x
@RelentlessSportsman
@RelentlessSportsman Жыл бұрын
This kayak retails for $480. With tax, you're looking around $500. I would recommend this kayak only because it has worked so well for me and my needs. I don't have much experience with other kayaks. After buying this kayak, there will still be many expenses as I'm sure you know. Life jacket, rod holders, kayak crate, transom mount, fish finder, paddle, etc.

yeah I did end up buying this one and am happy so far that modification with the 2 by 4 with be especially useful to me for more under the seat storage. Would you mind providing the links to which caribeaners and ropes and stuff you used?

That's a good question, Justin. I don't have a great answer for you. I do know that for taller people, at 12 ft kayak is better than a 10. As far as weight, I don't know what to tell you. I think this kayak is stable compared to others.

@@jterry081 my first yak was a Tioga, which is very similar in size and capacity to the Teton. I’m around 250-260, Tioga ended up not being enough for me. I would suggest the Lifetime Yukon/Teton Pro 116, depending on where you buy it. Capacity is 350 lbs, 11.5 feet long and pretty much what he has on steroids lol. If you can find one at Sams Club, they have the best everyday price, I was looking at other stores, over $200 more for the same yak.
