I live in Upper East TN and you're spot on about people not targeting carp. They're pretty much all I fish for anymore. It's like fighting an angry submarine, no idea why they aren't more popular

I remember that precious time as well. Sitting on the end of a pier and keeping everything we caught,from crabs to doubling up on mullet or croaker. My whole life fishing has been my me time for relaxation and I feel closer to our Creator whether anything is taking my bait or not.

Love this kind of fishing too. Two days ago caught a 22 inch channel cat on a rooster tail. He pulled me and my 10 foot pelican around for awhile. I use a 5 foot b&m dockshooter rod for small creeks.

I appreciate the multi-species videos. I fish for my own personal enjoyment. I think most of us have similar tastes to your own. If one species isn't working for me, I'll switch to other species. So, I carry a variety of rod/reel combos and terminal tackle. and even cans of corn for carp. Catfish are the core species but a little variation breaks the monotony. The one thing I also carry for pan fish and bass that I haven't yet seen you use is the fly rod. Now, that is a blast. Big thumbs up for the ultralight and carp videos.
@karolisgrigas13283 жыл бұрын
Very nice video. This is almost exactly what I do to catch bait pan fish. And it's so true that most fish will be tiny, but the effectiveness of this style of jigging is great!

I’d never even thought of this super light tackle and you convinced me to start doing it and it is definitely the most effective way to catch bait fish. In the really hot months they get finicky the fish tend to like the chartreuse minnows a tad more

Bluegill are a fun fish to catch. Not only that but you know how to make a big guy hungry 🤣. I don't know how your carp video did but it doesn't matter what you video, I enjoy the videos. I surely don't mind your UL fishing vids, Justin. Nor do I mind your talking/teaching the whole way through it. You've got a nice voice for it, and Lord knows I cannot deal with people who are non-stop loud or hootin' and hollerin'. I really enjoy it, especially if I can't get to the water myself. How'd you finish on your April tourney, and have you entered one for May? P.S. Looks like you may have some clout-chasing turtles there! 🐢🤣

Good stuff. I did some ultralight fishing myself over the weekend (not just for fun, but bait too). Caught: Crappie, bluegill, shellcracker, rock bass, spots, largemouth, white bass and even a channel cat! Good times! I could see a lot of carp/suckers hanging under low hanging limbs, but they were not interested.....

Just a suggestion from some knowledge I picked up while fishing in Japan: Try out 8lb braid with micro jigs. You can use heavier leader line and maintain great castability, sensitivity, and also have more power to pull larger fish out of cover. I landed a 9lb GT on a setup like that, which is one of the strongest fish in the ocean. I love your videos though. We actually live fairly close to each other, so I’d love to make a trip with you some time. Much love, man!

I've been keeping up with your videos for a while now, and the only gripe I have at all is that you care too much about what we(the viewers) think. Man, you do you! We're all just here for the ride. You're a heck of a fisherman and I think I speak for at least the majority of us when I say to stop stressing about pleasing all of us! There are some people that will complain no matter what you do. Keep catching them and most importantly enjoy yourself! That's what it's all about.

My favorite technique (if you can) is to cast the lure onto the bank and then ease the lure into the water. I think fish wait at the water's edge for some bug or critter to fall in. Then they murder it. This also has the advantage of not making a lot of unnatural noise and commotion when it hits the water. I've had a lot of luck using this trick.

Gulp minnows are always a great choice! Another great vid my man! Just a little heads up with those 1” gulp minners, I had the same problem you had with them leaking, but the little like white gasket kinda seal thats on it under the cover, dont take that completely off, just peel it about halfway and then put it back down and screw the cap on🤙no leakage🤙but I tell you what, a pee cup is a solid idea though!
