Glad to finally see you using carp. I usually scale them first, then the Bubba cordless electric filet knife makes quick work of the filets. I cut my chunks into long triangles so the tip flutters in the current. The skin is tough and they will not come off the hook. They also freeze very well when vacuum sealed. Mix them in as a supplement to the fresh bait when it is hard to get.

Justin, I have seen some of your videos where you have had trouble keeping live bait alive. A tip that I learned years ago from a state fisheries employee was to put a handful of rock salt ( ice cream salt) in your bait bucket. I was launching my boat when a truck from the hatchery arrived to stock fingerling salt water stripe and hybrid stripe bass. He asked if I would let him on the ramp first because his areators had stopped working and he needed to unload as soon as possible. He explained that he had already put salt in the water to minimize the loss. After that day I always put salt in my live shad cooler and it works great as long as you don't over crowd them. Good luck!
@Fishing-Kayak3 ай бұрын
What works the best is a chemical called better bait , they sell in on Amazon in bulk , very cheap . It made a life of the difference , I fished from 9am to 4.30 pm in 92 degree , the aerator died by 1 pm. Most of the bait alive when I was done fishing. But salt does help . I have live bait well at home , that's just a huge cooler . I keep bait in there for the times I go fishing at night and can't stop by the bait shop. I have small carps and bass in there, some of them have lived there for a month now .
