I kayak'd Antelope Canyon last fall...an unforgettable trip. It looks beautiful in this vid but it's even more breathtaking in person. Also did Lone Rock Canyon which was less crowded and very beautiful.

I'm looking at an Axis 10.5. I noticed as you paddled that the kayak looked like it rocks back and forth. I'm wondering if I would like that... What model was that other Dagger in the close up shot at 1:50, the teal/magenta one?
@HeadwatersKayak3 жыл бұрын
It’s such a great kayak. You steer a kayak with your hips, so what you see as rocking is me putting it on its edge to help it steer. This boat is crazy stable. I’ve got a few videos with the 10.5 and 12. The last video I posted goes into detail with the 10.5 and how to outfit it. Check it out.

@@HeadwatersKayak have you done a video review of the Dagger Zydeco 11? How would you compare it to the Axis 10.5 as a generalist kayak?

May kayak antelope this weekend. Never kayaked before. I’m concerned about waves caused by cruising boats. What point would you recommend we start to avoid major watercraft ? Also, do you know where we could rent paddle boats? THANK YOU

No paddle boats! Take a tour with Lake Powell Adventure Company or lake Powell SUP.

@@HeadwatersKayak Indescribable beauty, The rock surface is as smooth as skin, and its vivid colors vary brown, purple, pink depending on how the sunlight hits it. The site has two sections, Upper Antelope Canyon and Lower. Resembling the inside of a couch shell, the corridor through Upper Canyon, in particular has an indescribable beauty!

Hello, I follow your channel from last year. Since before the pandemic I dreamed of buying a kayak but my budget is extrimely tight. I found a fiberglass one, are those good?
@analogpro73 жыл бұрын
On a budget, a used kayak can be a great option. Depending on what you want to use the kayak for may influence the material and construction of the kayak. A little more detail can help answer you best.
@Andrea910803 жыл бұрын
@@analogpro7 Thanks, it is an eskimo brand 12 feet long and I would use it for recreational in a reservoir
@analogpro73 жыл бұрын
Fiberglass can be good. They are a bit heavy but they tend to hold up well. For recreation on a reservoir of day they are fine. Just keep the weight in mind when you figure out how to load it on your vehicle.

Ummmm, rain + slot canyon = a potentially REALLY bad day. And you’re not in an area with any possibility of rescue before the flash flood hits you.
@starwobble3 жыл бұрын
My thoughts EXACTLY. This is a sketchy situation to be in if there is rain anywhere near the canyon. 11 hikers died there in 1997.
