On the hill on the west side of quail lake is a 50 foot long arrow used in the 1920's to help the mail planes navigate from LA to Salt Lake. There are 4 in St George area. Look it up: Navigation Arrows of Utah. You can also hike to them.

Lol, the lake color reminded me of mono lake near yo'semite (so spelled since others might be more familiar with its mispronunciation xD), it'd been so green and devoid of human activity then that we thought we'd entered some kind of unfortunate afterlife
