Every time I hear that music at 0:45 I know I am in for a magical, dream world. I do realise the reality for Nicky is very much more down to earth - contending with the 500 steps, the garden, the chickens, etc. can’t always be a sunlit idyll. But I am very grateful for the chance to escape to heat, sea and unbelievable sunsets...and Holly’s happy smile !

When you two were trying to get into the kayaks and kept falling out, or just jumping off rocks for fun, all I could think was Sky and her maybe being embarrassed. I had such a tumultuous childhood, and my parents hated each other, but were in one house. All I could think of, is I wish so much, that I had videos of my parents laughing with each other, or jumping off rocks. It would be so treasured. (and I know youtube and instagram life isn't real life, but you know what I mean)

I was in a small village in Japan once where someone had left crates of persimmons out in the middle of nowhere but they were accompanied by a sign which apparently asked to take and pay whatever amount people need and can afford. There is also a similar concept with books where you can leave a book you no longer want and take away one you do. These are endearing acitivies a community can do.

Cimbing back into the kayaks made me have a flashback to when I had costochondritis and I was trying desperately to get up onto the examinaton table, whilst having extreme chest pain. I was laughing and crying at the same time, which made it even worse. I remember telling the (good looking) doctor that I felt like an uncoordinated worm! Thankfully fully recovered, I will be able to attempt kayaking soon; I will try the "Nicki method" of climbing back in from the sea. I'm glad Holly got back onto the kayak after falling in. 👱‍♀️❤🐾🐶🛶🛶
