My dude is just over 5 months and we just started the Ferber method a week ago. He was exactly like Jackson and slept horrible, and now he sleeps at least 6 hours before waking. He went to bed at 9 last night, woke up at 4 for about 20 minutes, then slept again until 6:30. The first couple nights were rough, but now it is way better. You can start the Ferber method anywhere between 4-6 months, so Jackson is definitely old enough!

I believe that babies change all the time and our patience will be rewarded, sooner or later, so don't worry Kyla! 🌻Jackson is always cute and looks really happy! Even after a worse nap 🙂 So he feels really happy is his momma's arms and that makes up for all the tiredness and devotion. I know what I'm taking about! 😄 My baby is 14 months old and has better and worse days. Sometimes I have to go back to her room a milion times to put her for a nap that would last 30 minutes 🥳 and my coffee is always cold 😅 But then, after she wakes up she greets me with the brightest and cutest face ever and that's what matters. Sending lots od love! ♥️

Our boys are so similar with sleep! (Born jan 3rd) I can get him to sleep pretty easy in his crib during the day but at night he wakes every 20 minutes until i bring him into bed with me 😭 when i do manage to get him asleep i cant sleep! Do you find when hes sleeping in his bassinet you have troubles falling asleep if he is not beside you?

hey mama, are things becoming more manageable for you now? My boy was born on Jan 7th and I've been struggling to get him to nap longer and sleep longer at night. It's so overwhelming as a FTM and the 4-month sleep regression is kicking my butt too....

Hi! :) I just wanted to add that my son did not have anything to sooth him like a pacifier or blanket until 1.5, until then he refused anything and ended up getting attached to his bottle which I finally got him completely off of at 1.5 years and then I made him a small blanket like the size of his belly - so he couldn't suffocate, I have fears of that stuff. So I know what you mean when you say your son has nothing to sooth himself! It's sooo challenging and I feel bad for them because they don't know how to comfort themselves. Until a year old I rocked my son completely asleep with a bottle, he now is attached to his blanket and I have made him three - one for the car, one for my parents and then our house. 🤦🏼♀️💁🏼♀️ Love your videos!! My favorite are just the day in the life with your kiddos and hubby ❣️. I have a 2.5 year old son and a 1.5 year old daughter 💗

Greeting Jackson with his cute double chin. Glad he slept somewhat better the prior night. So, you just tell Riley that you want breakfast because you are hungry and then you take her downstairs and give her breakfast after you have gotten yours ready. She can eat it or you can save it for snacks when she starts needing them off and on until lunchtime. You cleaning up the kitchen with Joe while Jackson is in the wrap was hilarious because all you can see is his little legs kicking away. I suspect the curtain from the dining room to the deck may take such a beating from Riley that you may not want to replace it until you see how long it lasts from her being obstinate about what she wants to do re: the deck and going out to play, so moving the curtain on her own quite often. Save some money. Good for Riley, being a "Star Wars" fan. I think your roses are gorgeous. So much beauty to cheer us in the springtime. I am not suggesting this is true, but have you considered if he cried for 3 minutes, then 5 minutes, then 5 more minutes and had then exhausted himself enough to sleep that maybe he just needs to cry himself to sleep a bit longer and will then figure out self-soothing to get himself past that? He would be highly unusual if he did not figure out some self-soothing tactics when he's tired. Does he have a pacifier or teething ring attached to his sleep sack now, so he can grab it to help with self-soothing even during the night when he partially awakens amidst sleep cycles? He may get the gist of it even with what you are doing. You will see. He had colic, Riley didn't. That made a difference early on, too. It is the worst to have to listen to your baby cry, but when you put him down you must understand that his needs have been met and it's complaining because that's his only language and he wants the repeated comfort he has not had the chance to learn that he can provide for himself. This is a good way to ease into later training. Try to remind yourself that even though it is getting to you that it is costing him the rest his brain and body need to cement memory and move along at full speed developmentally. Cat naps without full sleep cycles being completed cannot go on forever without some detriment. You are on a good trajectory. And trying solid food may help some. Give it time. He may now be associating your rocking him with the fact that you are going to put him down and he isn't ready, by his lights. You may have to get to the point of bathing him, reading to him and rocking him while you nurse a bit, but not waiting for him to seem ready to sleep. Just put him down when he's done feeding and leave the room. The crying does tire them out because it is not due to a need that isn't met. You and Joe both know you are watching the monitor, that his needs have been met, he has the owlet on his foot, and he has to learn to sleep well for a lifetime of needing sleep daily. So, ultimately the crying is wearing him down enough to sleep and not how many times you are rocking him, since Joe just got him down finally. It seems he has an approximate time limit on how long it takes him to settle. Let him move around after 24 minutes. He's not in distress. He's not even crying from grumpiness because he wants your attention. He may during any given nap figure out how to go back to sleep on his own. Let him make noises until he cries. He does seem to be moving around a lot. But, lots of children do once they are in a crib and can roll over on their own and it's all part of their sleep time or going to sleep time. It isn't fair how dang cute they are when they awaken and smile at you. I thought I would die of cute seeing him in the little Yoda outfit all crocheted for a jedi master.

Second, I wanted to ask how did you teach your baby girl not to touch your phone (or what you use to record the videos). It might be a little late for this but have you heard of the 4s (set the scene, swaddle, sit, shush/pat) method? It's from one of the baby whisperer books. It's a no cry sleep training method. We started it at 7 weeks and by 10 weeks we were putting him down just a little drowsy but awake and he soothes himself to sleep in a couple minutes. Our son used to fight us SO badly going to sleep with the screaming just like you're describing and now he self soothes and takes 2 hour naps. Even if he does wake up he wiggles a bit then goes back to sleep. I hope you finally find something that helps ♥️
