I DIDNT KNOW!! As a kid I was a doodler. I even won an award for a butterfly drawing at school. But I had no idea that I could draw until my divorce several years ago. We were together for 20 years and I was devastated so I started doodling again to take my mind off the pain of my broken heart. It was then that I realized that I could actually draw. How can a person spend their entire life not knowing that they have a talent like that?!?! 😳 Now I need to learn what to do with it.

Yes, most creative people indeed create to please others, however creating for yourself is not an easy task. nice video

Wow! I've learned so much from your videos, which I only discovered yesterday. They fill me with hope and encouragement. Thank you. Such wisdom only comes from someone who has faced adversity with courage and curiosity. I honor you for that.

I think to a large extent, we are our values. I was gonna type authenticity just before you said "authenticity" (again). I am tired of the fakeness on social media. I don't have much visibility but people do see & hear my authenticity.

That quote from Paul Cézanne truly resonates with me as an artist. I completely agree with what you shared in part 2, particularly regarding the challenges artists face when handling everything on their own-from business and marketing to managing and creating. Balancing the analytical demands of business with the creative process can leave artists feeling lost and disconnected from their true purpose and passion. This has been my greatest struggle, especially as I run my own art gallery while striving to maintain my creativity and artistic vision every day. But when you keep focusing on the purpose why you decide to be an artist things get better and you will learn how to balance. Thanks for sharing your personal story with tour teacher❤

What a wonderful surprise! I don't know why you video popped up in my YT feed, but I'm glad it did. You are a very engaging and articulate presenter. Clearly you've given a great deal of thought to your process and the challenges you faced to grow. I particularly loved the segment about the distinction between purpose and mission. Bingo! Well done!

Your insight is beautiful. Thank you for sharing this. Having done commissions for over 25 years, I've lost touch with the "Art From My Own Heart" creating. I needed to see this video today.

Ok one more thing. When you were explaining about being unique and being you it reminded me of something from Dr. Seuss. ..."Today you are YOU , it is truer than true, There is no one alive that is youer than you."

I love your videos! I love painting and have a talent for it, but it feels impossible to figure out who I am as an artist with 3 under 7 at home. We homeschool and I love it, but I literally never have a break. They wake up before I do most days and don’t sleep til late. I want so badly to be an artist. Any advice for a newbie?
