I used KZbin Shorts to blow my channel up. Took me 7 months to reach 150k subscribers. I just got my checkmark and the silver play button. I posted 4 shorts per week the first 3 months and then went to 2 per week. Now, I'm planning on adding in some long form content to boost the income. My first month being monetized I made over 2k. Keep at it!

However with your success it got me thinking, would you recommend shorts after you are already monetized or would you say it’s not worth it because it affects your long format video? Hmmm, that is an interesting perspective. I guess it would depend what your shorts are about! I personally think my shorts help reach thousands of new viewers who, if interested, may check out my longer videos and subscribe to my channel. If not interested, I assume they’d just keep scrolling shorts… but maybe I’m wrong, lol!

Are you concerned at all about lower Average Percentage Viewed on longer videos? Like if you make a 60-minute video, if someone watches 15 minutes that's good watch time but only 25% view percentage.

Also also! (Sorry, not sorry- 3rd comment haha) I PREFER the videos that aren’t over the top when it comes to art. Why? Because it’s so unattainable. I would love to switch from acrylics to oils. Maybe a “oil painting for dummies”. I am sooooo clueless when it comes to “why pick this vs that oil mix, what paints are truly the best bang for your buck? What canvas? What to prime with? Drying time? Etc” Other ideas: how to paint water droplets (like the one in your recent painting) in oils. How to paint skin texture. Etc

Lovely video as always . I’ll never watch a video that has an ad to start that you can’t skip at 5 seconds. I just switch straight back off however much I wanted to watch it. And any more than 2 adverts in a video I’m gone. It’s google’s little cash cow. Censoring and brainwashing. Shame it’s so rarely we find a little gem like you.

The video creator doesn't have complete control over when or where You Tube places ads. You Tube can place additional ads wherever they want to (like before and after a video starts and ends), and even during a video on a channel that is, or is not monetized. So it is very presumptive of you to not only stop watching a creator's video because of more than one ad appearing within a video, but on either end of a video as well! You are just a bit too full of yourself. It's very foolish and condescending to think that creators of videos should be doing this without any compensation because creating videos worth watching on a regular basis is very time consuming!
