I suggested this on one of your stories before, but I would love to see a video where you show us the process of a plant under your care. aka how a plant looks when it comes into your shop, and how it looks when you deem it to be ready to sell. Loved the content so far!

For those of us that just don't have a lot of money to buy every plant on our Wishlist, it would be fantastic to know which plants are worth the splurge and reduces our risk of just throwing money away on a plant that is just ridiculously hard to keep alive or one that is just overwhelming to have for the ones that have treble digit plant collections.

I found where the city dumps they’re plants. I found an Alocasia last week and today 3 Colocasia. The fun thing is that they were growing from super deep in the dump (mix of tree clippings, grass cuttings, other dumped plants, etc, and a 3’ snake skin😮♥️) and I wasn’t able to find the corm, but a good 1’ of the petioles had roots growing from them! I planted them in my bog filter, and so far, they’re still surviving. No corm, only roots coming out from an all white petiole.

3:35 That actually make me feel more sane. I currently have a propagation of a white Albo, and nothing is happening to it after sitting in water for over a month now. Mind you, it's a cutting with three areal roots, four notes, and three mature leaves, so the cutting itself has everything it needs. On top of that, it also sits in water with added root growth, it has a water pump that constantly adds air, and it gets plenty of indirect light. Today I'm trying to lower the pH value of the water closer to under 6.5 (it's currently a little over 7.0) to see if I get any root growth. Wish me luck!

I got a cutting in January. It don't do anything for me in sphagnum moss, I almost threw it away. It was one leaf. I put it in water and two weeks later it was growing a new leaf! And ROOTS! I put it in a 2 inch pot with soil and worm castings and now it is working on its forth leaf! Don't lose hope!

I’ve got almost the same plant. It came with root rot so I kept it in moss for a while until it seemed like it was doing well with roots. I lost patience however and just stuck it in soil two weeks ago. Doing nothing above the soil level but who knows! Doesn’t seem unhappy, just seems like it’s doing nothing.

Then I got hand surgery, and all gardening is on hold (except watering) for another week yet. I have a larger pot for M. a., and a totem for her to climb up on, but, well, next week. Even so, she grows on like a weed! Each vine is now about five feet long. I have wound them together into a ball 18 inches around and 24 inches tall. Gotta love that persistance!

I live in a cold dry climate (Northern Ontario) and have had a lot of success with propagating Burle Marx Philodendron. The mother plant is massive, it gets terrible light, sits directly on top of a forced air vent, I forget to water it and the kids bump into it constantly. Despite all that, it is vibrant green, healthy, and looks like a majestic jungle tree. I have to prune it very regularly and the cuttings always root quickly in water or soil.

As for propagations, I have to concur with Monstera being super easy. While not exactly a propagation story, mine was down to 2 leaves when I had to cut off all the roots after a failed leca transfer and within a few weeks I had new roots growing. A few months later, one of the two leaves survived with a new baby leaf doing well (in leca), so I def can see how they are super easy to prop.
