Obviously the gameplay isn't really all that similar but the player character here has a definite "We have Strider at home" vibe to them

There's quite a vibe when you add CD quality music to a 16-bit game with quality sprites.

I prefer most of the chip tunes of the Mega drive/SNES/PC Engine over the PC Engine CD/Sega CD soundtracks but I agree they're both nice sounding.

So basically Kung Fu from the NES but set in feudal Japan and with better graphics and sounds as well as added combos. Kinda neat honestly.

Take a little Kung-Fu Master (Spartan X), add a dash of Legend of Kage (Kage no Densetsu), and just a pinch of Ninja Warriors. Stir lightly. You get one serving of Kaze Kiri. I liked this game, but looking back on it, it feels like an unfinished demo. As if this game could have been a lot more, but the time and budget wasn't spent to get perfection. The way it stands, Kaze Kiri is just a ninja boss rush. Still like it though.
