This is the music that Hendrix envisioned towards the end of his life. He talked about adding other instruments like horns and keyboards. Jimi's manager poisoned Jimi's mind against Buddy and that was a shame because that Band Of Gypsy album was in the top of the charts when it was released.

Yes, you are right. And it was probably what he wanted from the start of his solo carrer. "Cream" was a sucessful band in the late sixties and Eric Burdon wanted a copycat.

proud to know buddy back to early 70's called in on radio give away tickets to show and album.. all the way thru live with santana freedom show and on to arlington guitar show where buddy was saturday night guest artist concert guitarist....walked by our table me,son,sun's pal mattstopped and shook our hands amazing cat

I remember going to see Buddy and he broke a drum stick and he threw the other out in the crowd and it landed in my hand. I still have it. Crazy how that happened.
