Gifting a player his first homer and asking nothing in return is a serious bro move and some grade A class.

Ryan is very sarcastic and Rex Hudler is a bafoon. Ryan probably has seen some fans ask for crazy shit in return for the ball. He is mocking those old situations more than this one. Ryan is a good dude he just gets salty and rude sometimes.

Its also kind of tradition in baseball for you to trade something. Yeah you don't NEED to, but its a quirk of the sport that I really enjoy, it brings a fan/player interaction that you can't get anywhere else.

The one announcer can't even wrap his head around the concept of empathy, decency, or morals. I literally had to mute the video (and swallowed some throwup) not understanding why there are so many people in this world with the mentality or that announcer; and so few of those with the mentality of the fan.

Pat Fitzgerald So true. You know all those people who are constantly saying : « What would Jesus do »? Well, THAT’S what He would do. Or indeed any decent human being with a sense of compassion. The announcer was really being a creep.

These announcers are dumb....greedy people!!! True fans don't need all those autographs and free seats to be satisfied. When that guy caught Jeter's 3000th hit, the dude asked for nothing and got to meet Jeter and get things just by being a good person and giving the ball back. Though it was a different situation of course with that event being way more significant than a first homer. But this guy is a true fan by asking for nothing, props to him for giving it back immediately!

lol they talk like this is a Mike Trout rookie first career home run ball. 1:22 "Alvarez 10 years from now could be one of the star players in the world." He couldn't cut it as a hitter, converted to a pitcher, then immediately needed Tommy John surgery. Now he's already 28 and his career is probably over.

What happened was he gave the ball back and they gave him back some crappy normal ball. Then the black guy escorted him away saying,"Follow me to the promised land!". But turns out they just went outside the stadium at which point the black guy slammed the door behind them. Lost the important ball and was deceivingly kicked out.
