Thanks for the sharing. Im in my early 40s. Plan to retire in 10years time. Major take away from this video are dont be too conservative and keep investing for long term to avoid inflation erodes my saving. Had an idea to utilize my credit card to "buy times" for any emergency case in future. Would love spending my time travel around the world with the potential passive income generated in my dividend laying stocks....Now im more confident to towards retirement. Thanks again.

Hi Mr Lau, I learned a lot of practical ideas from you even though I am a Financial Planner. Earlier I worked in a Bank but not using the theory of FP to really plan for people. Now I am a Estate Planner n will start to apply my financial planning tools for my clients. What u do is very honourable and good as most people lacks Financial knowledge. A big salute to you. I pray that God blesses you all the way.

I plan to stop active work by age 45. I'm 39 this year. The best advice I learn is to have the 2-3 years of defensive fund for expenses. It saves me from having to worry about where I will get my money from for all my daily and monthly expenses. Thanks for the sharing. ☺️

1. KC - you look amazing at your age (you should do some video on this topic - you may get even more followers!) 2. Shouldn’t retirement be just a state of mind? I am 55 and intends to work (whether that be active employment or running an own gig) as long as health and situation allows and slow or stop when that no longer is feasible (that could be tomorrow or 10 years from now)

Hi Mike, my friend Peter Lim charges only performance fee. You don't pay him until he makes at 6% for you for the year, every year. The minimum to start is currently US$100k. Submit a support ticket on my website and I will connect you with him: KCLau.com/support/

Loved your concepts - particularly on having an emergency fund of 2 to 3 years and to replenish your defence fund from time to time. The other point which made a lot of sense was on the fact that it is not a good idea to utilize our EPF to settle our housing loan. Thank You.

Hi KC, what do you mean when you said return rates drop when we use smaller loans? 11:30
@KCLauMoney3 жыл бұрын
Because of the leverage effect. You see, the property churn out return: capital gain and rental yield. If you use more of your money, less of loan, it means higher capital for the same kind of return. So the smaller loan actually reduce your return.

Your advice has triggered me to restructure my profolio. I am now age 74.,just stop my engineering firm 3 years ago. Then active in stock trading.(not so good). So I think of investing in F&B.. Lately I met a friend of my son who owns 4 cafe and wants to expand some more. I share some of my idea in F&B and he agreed, ie healthy foods, nor meat meal, Indonesia foods which are still new in market. He buys my idea and we decide to work together.. THE ROI is around 2 to 2.5 years. We will raise fund through investors to speed up the expension programme Mr Lau What is your comment.

I’m 29 and plan to retire by 40. Always wondered what is the best capital preservation after retirement and thought of having 2 buckets, half in fixed income and half in equities. Planning to live off the interest from fixed income but still investing the other half aggressively in equities like I’m currently doing.

Thank for your video. You mentioned selling properties which have low rental yield (RY). How do I calculate RY?
@KCLauMoney Жыл бұрын
The simple way to find the gross rental yield: rental yield = total rental receive over 12 months divided by the property market price. e.g. market price = RM500k, rental received full year RM20k, the gross rental yield = 20/500 = 4%

There is no retirement age for me as long as I can still continue to serve my clients in a financial services industry.. what I learnt from this video:- why pay off the mortgage loan during retirements years when the Housing Loan interest rate is so low? Use an investment vehicle that can generate better returns than HL rates which can provide me a fixed income/monthly cash flow that will enable me to pay off my monthly housing loans instalment..

EPF gives average 5% dividend every year till age 100. Just draw the dividend every year. Much better than Fixed Deposit 2.4% 12m. I'm 47 planning to retire at age 65. Working shorter hours of course at retirement age. Sometimes a job can keep us alert fit and healthy whereas sedentary lifestyle shorten our lifespan.
