Excellent video Kristina! With respect, you need to learn to sail that boat solo in case John is incapacitated. Tough call but a good safety step.😊

Great video - enjoy watching. A few tips - I always leave my instruments on when I anchor - very helpful particularly in the middle of the night when winds get up. I put a waypoint in as I drop the anchor then ‘go to’ that waypoint and display that waypoint distance on my chart plotter. That way you can tell very quickly if you are dragging. Another gadget that’s very handy on a boat - particularly when anchoring is a ‘range finder’. They are used lots in golf & hunting and give you a pretty accurate distance to other objects - like the shoreline or other boats. They are a couple of hundred bucks.

Been really enjoying your adventure of course your a great story teller!!! Good job on challenging yourself with the main halyard, but I thought I would encourage you to find a way even a little fold up stool to keep at it! John’s all ready proved accidents happen and both of you being able to move and sail the boat competently I think is a major safety advantage!!! Great videos 👍👍

Something you might want to consider. There are wagons that will hold 70 kilos or so and fold up into a very reasonable bundle. I'd recommend one with wide tires. They are the easiest to manage and pull around when used. They aren't terribly expensive either. BTW great thumbnail on the video. Kristen, you look down right like the classic Elvin waif.

Great video. I agree with a lot of comments below that Kristina really needs to learn to sale boat single handed. It is safety issue for both of you. There are ways of making things accessible. Bars can be installed on either side that can be stepped on or modified steps on mast. There are ways of making work. The boat was just was never set up for someone of the perfect height😁

I see other’s have written it aswell, but seriously Kristina, you need to know as much as John, if not more! You seriously can’t hurt yourself stepping off one step, it’s Crucial that you can reach everything safely and know what everything does, by working smarter than John, because you are responsible for his life, meaning you may need to practice “man overboard” and stop that boat, turn it around, and lift Johns weight aboard.. Minimum, next you may need to get him to hospital by sail!

The eyebrow window, tape off the surrounding surface and grab a tube of butylmastic, clean the salt and surface with metho, wipe clean and bog the window up,will skim over hard but underside will be malleable and seal well.

You need a good pellet rifle I kept a Beeman air rifle on board just for the sea gulls because birds of a feather poop together and my spreaders’ are not for resting places for birds. Get a scope for the air-rifle so that you can pick where you are going to bring the pain, believe me they do talk to each other and the word will get out that your boat is not a good place to rest.

Tie the halyard off to a spreader instead of clipping it to the boom if one of you can't reach it.

Hi Kristina, Plastic storage, watching wild sailings another youtuber from WA - Showed they have a plastic bottle wide opening at the top, they push all plastic food wrappers, e.g noodle wrappers in and keep compressing and compressing until bottle can no longer fit anymore. @macman61073 жыл бұрын
Bahahahaha @ spider pig! Kristina I hope you took some medicinal chocolate for that boo boo, it fixes everything! lol What an awesome flotilla you had there when leaving. Every sailing YTber I have watched have all said the same thing about the sailing community. That is invaluable. The things you can learn from them and issues that pop up they can help you with or even just reassure you that when they started it was the same for them. Bundaberg is only 150 years!? My house is older than that! Great video though guys. Just look at all that serenity! Absolutely beautiful scenery. Now just one thing that really worried me. Kristina, you need to be so careful with your long hair and those winches. Because that footage for the next video was very disconcerting seeing how close your hair appeared to get to that winch had me wincing.

K'gari is a modern invention. It is not an "ancient aboriginal name" it is a fabrication because Fraser Island is named after a white person enslaved and brutally murdered on the island. This is rewriting history!
