Yeah, they had REAL drumming from Robert "Shotgun" Johnson, who was EXCELLENT, instead of electronic, robotic "trash". I'm SAD he was the first to pass back in 1983, as GOOD as he was, there is almost NO information on him! (Why is that?) 🤔

That's a workout just to watch that video. I remember dancing the night away during the disco ages and I think we had to burn our clothes the next day, as they were so covered in sweat from having so much fun at the disco bars. The only other band that will wear you out watching them besides KC were the TALKING HEADS. Crazy powerful stuff. Couldn't beat the '70s. Man oh man did we have fun hitting the bars and partying the night away on the weekends.

Don Kirchner's rock concerts, Wolfman Jack and the Midnight Special, Soul Train and Bandstand. I knew I grew up in the best music. Miss those days. Harry Casey, what a fun band.

I saw KC several times in concert in the late 70s and to this day, hundreds of other concerts later, they still rank among the most fun I've ever had.

Seen KC and the Sunshine band in October of '76 at a nightclub outside of Ft. Dix, New Jersey. The club was called The Starlight Lounge. Afterwards, me and my Lady met KC and most of the Band. We partied and boogied till the wee hours of the morning. Ended up with a pair of drumsticks from the drummer Robert Johnson, R.I.P.. Man, the Disco days were some good times!! KC and the Sunshine Band is still dropping the boogie beats these days!

Absolutely, without a doubt. Of course it wasn't perfect but people were more positive, free of mind, friendly, more open. I miss those days

That horn section is AMAZING! I grew up a white kid in Miami in the 70’s and LOVED listening to KC, EWF, Barry White, The Commodores, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Ohio Players, Parliament, Sly and the Family Stone, Wild Cherry, Bobby Caldwell, Boz Scaggs. Black, White, Mixed. It didn’t matter. The Music had Soul. It had feeling. I grew up loving Black people because of the music I connected with . I grew up with almost all black kids off 35th and Biscayne in the 80’s and 90’s. It almost seems like blacks and white got along better in the 70’s then they do now and it was the music that brought them together. Later the connection was Rap and Hip Hop. People are so divided they forgot what they learned 45 years ago.
