So very proud to share my Canadian, Cree and Irish heritage with her and that the great Leonard Cohen was assured that his amazing song would live forever, with it's true intention of pain and loss in love, in KD's rendition! So many others cut out some of the verses to make it more PC I suppose, but what an insult to the brilliant composer........Cohen is on record, saying that "KD OWNS this song, no one can touch her!" It's hard to not tear up watching this. There's so many reasons for it to hit you. This song really was always so beautiful and haunting to me. It's so easy to see why it's been covered so many times. This song is almost perfect. It's so moving and I've always felt that KD Lang covers this song best. She puts a lot of emotion in each and every line of Hallelujah. She's performed this song so many times and each time she does the song justice. I was on a bus today that was being battered by the storm force winds, travelling ten miles to work.... the bus was all over the place.... this song was features on Desert Island Discs I was listening to on my drb on my way in to work.....
